Kellie While | 15:06 UK time, Wednesday, 10 March 2010

David Owen is a graphic artist based in Whitby, North Yorkshire. Much of his highly original work has been based on traditional music themes, often juxtaposing folk song characters or established folk symbols with pop culture images and styles.
He held his first London exhibition The Seeds Of Love in 2008 at the home of the , Cecil Sharp House. He was commissioned to produce onsite artwork for the 2008 & 2009 and will be doing so again this year. He also designed the excellent artwork for 's Low Culture album and is currently working on a design for the follow up.

Does the above poster (and next weeks bloomin all Irish) mean we can have an all English song, tune & artists show on Wednesday 21st of April in a pre St George's Day celebration.

Your one hour of Folk is after all the only 'English' mainstream radio Folk slot. Scotland has Travelling Folk & Ireland has Colum Sands, plus they're both 2 hour shows as as well.

Maybe the proposed shakeup of ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio 2 will allow a 2 hour Folk Show with more time for 'live' studio guests, we can but live in hope. My two pence worth has been submitted via the ´óÏó´«Ã½ Trust's current online Survey asking for responses to the DG's proposals to (*self-moderated) the ´óÏó´«Ã½.
