One Man Bhangra Army

Bobby Friction | 17:25 UK time, Tuesday, 5 October 2010

Foji is the perfect example of how talent, originality and an eye for a good tune can take you all the way.

Fast forward twelve months and amongst the new talent coming through including people like JK & Jaz Dhami we have Foji, a quiet contender with two massive hits under his belt and a spanker of a debut album.ÌýÌýÌý

ÌýNot only does he have an unassuming voice that has an addictive tone about it he also clearly comes from a tradition of experimentation.Ìý The track 'Kamlee' on his album is a DubStep Bhangra banger…yes Dubstep.Ìý In this day and ago you would expect some DJ's to make dubstep versions of Bhangra tracks, but not a full-on clash of musical cultures five tracks in on a mainstream Bhangra album!Ìý

On the day of the release of 'Dafa Hoja', Foji's debut album we invited him in for a chat and a live acoustic session.Ìý If you doubted his talents then check this acoustic version of Dafa Hoja and tell us what you think?
