Scott Mann quits

Graham Smith | 17:53 UK time, Friday, 24 February 2012

Congratulations to for this scoop! It's only ten months since Scott got the job, and reminds us all that council leader Alec Robertson's command of his Conservative group is

The council now has the weekend to think about how it will respond to all this. If it is true that there is some secret plot to pour taxpayers' money into the stadium, I doubt it will stay secret for long.

    Leader
The Leader has a very abrasive way of communicating and is more reminiscent of the brutal Westminster way of doing politics. This is not a good development but the unitary authority dictates that this will now be the way of Cornish politics.

    Stadium
The stadium issue confirms what I suspected but I thought this would happen after it was built and gone broke and then taken over by the Council and cost us about half a million a year to upkeep (not as bad as the millions for the airport)
Dont forget we have already spent money (200K?) on this potential white elephant.

"If it is true that there is some secret plot to pour taxpayers' money into the stadium, I doubt it will stay secret for long."

Mr Mann's letter states: "Although the (Conservative) group are generally supportive of the stadium they have made it clear on two separate occasions that no tax payer funding should be used. However a report is now being presented asking for 12-16 million pounds worth of funding."

With a gross budget of over £1 billion, what is £12-£16 million between "friends"?

I didn’t think a bbc blog was outside the ´óÏó´«Ã½ charter?

    10.2.3

We must not campaign, or allow ourselves to be used to campaign.

Sorry Graham I like your journalistic skills, but IMHO you have crossed the line. Impartiality is bedrock of the ´óÏó´«Ã½ reporting. Allowing Andrew to use this blog to forward his campaign should be avoided at all costs.

Not a complaint more an observation
