Sinn Fein Minister at the General Assembly
In what many will see as a further sign of the normalisation of politics and religious life in Northern Ireland, the Stormont education minister (pictured) of Sinn Fein has been invited to attend this year's Presbyterian -- the annual conference of Northern Ireland's largest Protestant denomination. The "" event takes place on Tuesday 5 June at 7.30 pm.
P.s., Since we're talking about education, it's probably a good time to note the almost-comprehensive misspelling of name across the media. For the record: it's spelt "CaitrÃona", not "Catriona".

this is very good. its just right and proper that the minister with respon. for educ. should be there. well done to the presbyterians for inviting her.
Delighted!
Hopefully the dinosaurs who kicked up a fuss a few years back about Alex Maskey's presence will be silencecd and realise this is the Christian (and common sense) thing to do
I agree. Progress. Time to move on and accept that unionists and republicans have more in common than divides us.
The Republic doesn't want the republicans and the UK doesnt want the unionists.
Time to get our act together.
Not a surprise. The Presbyterian Church supported the immorality of the Belfast Agreement, so inviting an advocate of republican insurrection to their General Assembly seems logical. Their apostasy is almost complete/
David Vance
- tell me how the Belfast agreement is immoral?
-how is it illogical to invite them to the General assembly?
Dont just say these things, explain why they are so. It is only when you try to explain yourself here that your narrow minded foolishness will become clear for all to see!!
Joe,
I did but the site hasn't shown my response.
Fair enough David! Sometimes that happens me as well! If you get time though try and repost your response. Cheers!
