An update on a story we ran last month about the Welsh poet Patrick Jones. The launch of Patrick Jones's new collection of poems, , was cancelled by Waterstone's in Cardiff after the bookstore received complaints from some conservative Christians. A new launch for the book has now been arranged: Borders in Cardiff will host the launch party on Thursday, and the poet will also read from the collection at an event in the Welsh National Assembly . the launch celebration represents a victory for free speech:

'The launch of "Darkness is where the stars are" will go ahead at Borders, The Hayes, Cardiff at 8pm Thursday 11th December. I would like to thank all the people who have been supportive over the book and the challenge Christian Voice has made to its readings. I have had support from Buddhist ministers, local vicars, intelligent Christians and independent minded decent people. This has inspired me and I look forward to reading at Borders and at The Senedd on the 11th. It is a great victory for debate, reason, poetry, freedom of speech, responsibility of speech and peace and amidst threats of disruption, hate filled emails, abusive phone calls, religious hatred and vitriol the readings will go ahead and love will outlast bigotry. Thank you.'
