Someone once quoted the above lines to me and I had to point out the inherent irony in them doing so. Or does it prove Wilde's original point? You decide....... lol :-)

I just finished making a similar point on the radio yesterday afternoon. I was lamenting another radio presenter stealing my ideas and ripping me off on another radio station, and calling him out by name, when someone called in and said I could be judged by how much of my material was original. Which made me think... very little of ANYTHING is absolutely original. Maybe 2 percent. If that. Everyone else is just following. I want to lead. :-)

Ha. Actually I'm not sure how original is the thought that most thoughts are unoriginal.

He got it wrong. Except for yourself, every person is "other." Each person is unique, individual, and a minority of one. To suggest otherwise is to deny the fact of your own identity.
