I won 1500m freestyle swimming bronze at the Athens Olympics four years ago.
Since then I've won two world championship long course bronze medals, European silver and Commonwealth gold over the distance.
I'm also racing in the new 10km marathon open water event after finishing second in the World Open Water Championships qualifying race.
Swimming star David Davies, 23, from Cardiff, won an Olympic bronze medal in 1500m Freestyle at the 2004 Games in Athens and competes in that event again in Beijing, as well as the inaugural 10km Open Water event. His previous diary entries are on 606. Our FAQs should answer any questions you have.
