Blind acting masterclass

One of Crippled Monkey's favourite pastimes is spotting non-disabled actors talking pretentiously and in dead earnest about playing a disablified type. Like Jessica Alba, for instance. (No, I didn't have any idea who Jessica Alba was either, until the ever-informative helped me out with the information that she is an American actress who is "regularly listed by magazines as one of the most beautiful or sexiest women alive". Oh, that Jessica Alba!)

According to - "the magazine that's better than sex", it says here - Jessica has been researching what it's like to be a blind violinist for her role in upcoming movie The Eye (novel title, that). She is quoted as saying: "I've been training. I wear a sleep mask and carry a cane to get around with".

I have nothing to say in response to this, for fear that it might result in me banging my head on the table. Please add your thoughts below.
