What about the way the media are reacting to the so-called "Mercy Killing" of Thomas Inglis - seeing it as "understandable"?

Unfortunately such 'mercy killings' are a way of getting away with murder as far as I and many other disabled people think.

Whilst such 'mercy killings' are permitted and 'assisted suicide' not prosecuted anyone can kill a disabled person and get away with it.

Ok I have understanding of the parents and families concerns but absolutely no one should have the right to take away the life of another person full stop.

To allow this without safeguards means disabled peoples lives will always seem dispensible when it becomes too difficult or burdensome in the opinion of the care giver.

Instead we shoudl have appropriately enforced legislation and much more support for disabled people and their families so all can have a quality of life, but the easy option is to 'permit' such 'mercy killings' so the authoritoes do not have to take responsibility for lack of care in this society.

The message is loud and clear disabled peoples lives have no value we are a disposable piece of humanity which can be terminated when life gets too difficult.

Equality for disabled people is a long way away sadly until this society faces the way it de values our lives and gets to grips with the responsibility we all share for each other.
