I tuned in expecting to get a quick dose of current affairs. But instead I got a hagiography of a self-important business reporter who managed to get a scoop.
Was I interested in which school Robert went to? No. Is it important what Robert's dad did for a living? Nope. Do I care what time Robert rises in the morning? Fascinating as it may be, the answer is no.
The biggest shame about the programme Panorama was that there was a half-decent programme fighting to get out there: the inside story into the events leading up to the bank bailout. But instead most of the programme looked like a PR promo for Peston plc.

Any chance Robert might ask a real probing question? If the bank CEOs didn't know what was going on with reckless lending they were incompetent and if they did know they were fools. Somehow they're all, for the most part, still in their jobs though. Sometimes I feel Robert's a bit too pally with these guys.
