This is the most disturbing news I have seen in some time. Well done Panorama for having the courage to report unethical business practice at the billionaire level. It is a story reminiscent of the Reuter Concession activity in Iran in 1872; and in 1890 when the Shah handed Major GF Talbot of the British owned Imperial Tobacco Company for a personal gift of £25,000 a 50 year monopoly on purchase, sale and manufacture of their entire tobacco crop. Then the later formation of the British owned Anglo Iranian oil company in the 1900s which creamed off all the profits and nothing went to the people. When I see Belize and Turks and Cacos, it reminds me of the lessons of the past. It speaks volumes about what we are all suffering from now. Capitalism has a fundamental flaw; there is no built in social responsibility mechanism. Time and time again; it is abused and abusive. It's time to bar any politician from any income whilst elected apart from salaried employment from parliament.

Instead of attacking single mothers and child benefits Tories should take a look at businessmen like Lord Ashcroft's tax returns and business deals. There is a lot of money for the Inland Revenue there. Is this what Cameron understands for The Big Society? Where Big People trample the rules as the Little People get 'savage cuts'. I see.

I posted a comment 10 days ago. Ostensibly it is still being 'further considered'. When may I expect some result?
