December the 9th
And Valery P says:
"Hi Eddie, Lissa et al
Of course Sam doesn't really have one eye - just a lot of hair/fur! By the way - do you like the bee box he gave me that Christmas ('05)?
Sorry it's a bit fuzzy, could have been steam (from the cooking, unlikely as I don't cook in the sitting room), smoke (more likely), general detritus on the lens (most probable). Other excuses are, of course, available on request!"
Hair by Val, Val?
Nice perm and little crown on top!
Hi Val, what's a bee box for?
Keeping a bee in. How do you think they fill them tiny jars you get in restaurants.?
Ah yes, so next time you see one fo those tiny jars with honey in - exclaim to the waiter "Ah, I see you keep a bee!"
Restaurant collapses in laughter etc etc ...
Hey - more fame for Sam! I can't believe it. S.O. says "How can a dog make it on to the radio, a most unlikely journey?"
The bee box - well, erm, it was a nice thought. I'm sure he meant well, but the bees don't seem to know what it's for either, sadly. Looks good hanging in a tree though.
Well, well, thanks Eddie, we are honoured indeed to be in the PMBlog Advent Calendar. This makes up for the fact that I can't send you the photo I took for WotW Day, it's still stuck in my new phone.
Congrats Valery! Nice pic.
I FORGOT!
Well done Val!
Sam is to 'die for'
Is he an Airedale crossed with summit or pure pedigree!
Bless him!
Love the tree by the way! - think of me tomorrow. I have Mum's to do across the road and two here and loads of lights everywhere.
Glad yours is so traditional!
Just heading out now to buy this year's tree, it's always nerve-wracking ensuring that the size and shape of this year's come up to scratch with the Teens' expectations (not that they will deign to come and help choose these days, sigh).
Good luck with all your trees Jonnie! Sam is a Lakeland/Border X Terrier. Looks v like Aunt Dahlia's Airedale Smudger though (see fl*r). If you were to blow Sam up with a bicycle pump he'd pass for an airedale! Insert your own joke here,,,,,
I believe the bee boxes are for a particular type of bee that is threatened in Britain. They are not for the ordinary honey bees we exploit for our own ends.
So keep waiting - your bees may yet arrive.
BTW, Sam loks a bit like a Sam we "Borrowed" from the Dog's Trust, Evesham; not him, is it?
Oh Valery, Sam is adorable!
Have you tried sending the photo to someone else's mobile? Or would it send to an email address? Your own? Or mine?
We MUST get your pickie outta there!
Fifi xx
(Other Fionas are available.)
Thanks for all the compliments - I've duly passed them on to my furry friend.
Vyle - thanks for the bee info, I'll keep watch then. Nope, Sam's never been to Evesham, though I have friends in Bromsgrove, is that close? Sam was born on the farm next door to us, and his father had come a-courting to the farm b*itch from the Big House further over, so he's a Very Local Lad!
Fifi, I could try bluetoothing it to TD's phone, but as it's a photo of her trying on the ballgown in the changing room, she might not co-operate! It was all perfectly respectable, I hasten to add, and I did cut her head off!
Valery (11): I don't have bluetooth but you might be able to send it via my mobile ... you should have the number somewhere.
I would have thought you could send it direct from your phone, to the PM email address though? Does it give you that option?
Popping out to check on a poorly neighbour. Back in a while! I'll just leave this box of Ferrero Rochers in the shade by the barbie. If any go missing while I'm away I won't mind. . .
Fifi, thanks for all your suggestions re the photo, I'm trying!
valery p (11)
I'm trying!
If I hear anyone saying that about you, I'll scratch their eyes out.
Mrs Naughtie - with all these compliments, you are spoiling me!
Fifi, I think I've just sent it as a picture message, to PM. I tried to email it to my address, but the address was too big. Ah me, life isn't simple.....
