Too late Mr Mair
We've given up
Oh dear, Eddie, the Gods are really against us today, aren't they? But I'm sure the clip will be very funny when we can hear it ....
Perhaps you could record one of you saying "Hello, I'm Eddie Mair". It's bound to be a winner!
I wish to complain about Aunt Dahlia's complaint .....
Yet another Scot on PM! We love you all. Whatever happened to Charles Kennedy?
Perhaps you could start an audio library of all your interviewees saying 'hello'. Then if that was sucessful move on to them saying 'goodbye'.
And that was supposed to cheer us up? Dear me, it's desperate times.
And I thought I had problems in my post.
Given the choice of responsibility for the Home Office or this failing Blog, I think I'll stay where I am!
Well, that was nice. Pointless. Nice though, thanks for sharing.
Talking about sharing - whilst waiting a decent interval in order to appease the MFP pixies before trying again, I clicked on 44(external), to find the very last 50 or so WOYW pics which have now been added. Lovely. Nope, mine's still not there. Perhaps it was a figment of my imagination. Did you say that there was going to be an opportunity for those of us in this elite to re-send?
Coo! Isn't he echoey?
Eddie, how come you never get nice sound effects like that?
Heard him often enough on Have I Got News For You...
I want to hear the Ryhope pigeon men, not Charles Kennedy, but I have an interest I suppose
I think we need a Spirit of the Blitz mentality at the moment. Who is going to start singing Roll out the Barrel?
lovely newsletter...is there a future for us???
I like his voice.
The Missing Link?
Fifi
No, I'm Charles Kennedy
Oh, well, stuff this for a game of soldiers. Still no posting up.
well I have a lot of time for Charles Kennedy and I was very pleased to be able to say hello to him last autumn when he was here for some function or other.
latest - good - news re trial on The Beach.
Have you ever noticed how alike Charles Kennedy and John Reid sound (the pitch of their voices and their accents, not what they actually say), This has led me to have a couple of very strange dreams whilst trying to ignore The Today Programme.
Don't get me started on the Today program again Appy, did you hear them shouting at their interviewees again this morning. I swear they get louder and ruder by the day.
I find that quite a lot of Scots men sound the same , although John Reid always sounds querulous to me whereas Charles is more mellifluous (can't spell that but who cares - sorry Val P, you probably do! actually I care but I can't see a different way to spell it even though it looks wrong).
Maybe there is just Stroppy Scot and Not Stroppy Scot.
Aperry & Admin Annie - Oddly enough, in spite of having a good ear for all accents (just the one ear of course), I was just remarking to SO last week that I often confuse those two chaps and I have to listen to what they are saying in order to sort it out. I'd have to class myself as Stroppy Scot - well some of the time anyway.
You're fine with mellifluous btw, it just looks funny the more you look at it! So glad to hear that you've got to the end of the Courtroom Saga too. Celebrating on the Beach?
Admin Annie (19),
I think this morning I dreamt my way through a lot of stuff about death -- were they doing an item on living wills at some point? I don't mean that I was listening drowsily -- I was asleep and a woman was talking at me for a long time about this sort of thing -- I only realised it was the radio when I was awoken by shouty presenters.
"Querulous" versus "Mellifluous" (spelling fine by me) eh? Hmm, I think of John Reid as more aggressive certainly, but when one is asleep it's not always so striking. Charles Kennedy I find very dull - a bit sing-songy and in need of winding up to speed. But, honest, in the land of nod they are easily confused.
Appy I don't know. We all have some lurgy thing, and didn't really wake up until after Today. You know how people say your bones should ache with flu, well imagine having all the bones in your fingers ache - and every other oen as well. really awful.
However as an ex accountant used to advising people in Inheritance Tax, can I just say that everyone should make a will.
Oh dear me AA (22), I hope it all goes away soon!
Wills, hmm. Last time I thought about wills I was about to get on a ferry with my mother. I rang my aunt and left my 'living will' on her voicemail along with details of where to find the will proper. She wasn't really worried about us getting on a ferry until she heard that... I'm just really scared of ships -- not once I'm on them, but seeing them in the water. But that's a whole other story...
