Well really, Rupert, I don't know how you kept your cool with that person in the background twittering away with his silly remarks. It was an effort to concentrate on your insightful, nay, profound remarks & ignore him.

Trying to get anything out of that press conference that's scheduled for 4 30 pm might be a bit stressful, time wise. Still, nothing like a challenge for you hungry newshounds, I suppose.

    Good luck!

    A light news day?

There's a stock market crash to report. Somehow, Enron style, you didn't cover it much on Friday, and your pension fund so market-sentiment sensitive! So its always handy to ignore crashes and big-up gains. It helps stop listeners selling and getting into money or gold where they should be if they're maximising self interest.
Londom and European markets are waiting on the Dow.
But don't hold your beathe for the next bit of the crash 'cos NY may have cobbled together a holding operation for when it opens this afternoon. Then expect the crash to continue tomorrow or Wednesday.

Also why has the Beeb let D. Dimblebey (take his QT franchise) take off for the summer without a replacement - like, say, Miar to chair it.

Question Time has been gone three weeks now - missing Brown asking for a public debate policy proposals pre the Queens speech less interest in politics, David), two by - elections, the Gloucester floods, Brown in America, three PMQs etc.

Is it a Roy Plumley problem, no David, no QT? Or is it the Beebs failure to preserve the only TV programme where the public get to question politicians and chattering class members?

Mr Mayor asks "Or how about a nice drinkie?" to which Rupert adds "Join us at five!" Sounds like a good idea to me. Mine is a pint

Good to knowe you're getting on to the Nato and British killing fields in Afghanistan. Start with Operation Medusa last October - 700 'Taliban' (read viillagers) dead. Then the attacks on 'componds' (read hamlets)

Recent times indiscrimminant bombing in the region began when Bush - Powell first came to power (Blair assisting) and started bombing Iraq regularly.
One ´óÏó´«Ã½ worry I have (and ´óÏó´«Ã½ duplicity is news) is whats happened to Occupation, a Radio 4 (20th July) prog that apparently realised that claiming the occupation is legal (because occupiers are made responsible for law and order) is like saying Nazi occupation of France was kosher.
And I understand that attacks on the forces and countries of the occupation are also legal (otherwise the Allies would have had to try the Resisitance and the anti - Hitler bomb terrorists).

The prog has disappeared from the web (though there's a pre broadcast mention from 'Press Office' ) with no links. No repeat plans. Impossible to call up any details on the Beeb site even under Mark Wittaker, the date, the title etc. (Get the press release thing by searchni 'Iraq and Japan, Occupation).
Do't say its Radio Player probs. 'cos that wouldn't stop it being SET UP for Listen Again.

    From the Listen Again webpage:

"We are experiencing severe technical problems, and regret that many programmes are unavailable. We are working to restore normal service. See station websites for alternative links."

The Now Show is certainly a victim of this problem (lucky it's on podcast - oh wait, that was just an experiment for last series so they can't do it when it *might actually be useful*!) and I doubt the ´óÏó´«Ã½ would risk the wrath of Punt & Dennis fans just to cover up burying a programme...

I've just purchased an Internet Radio for my Mother - £49 at Curry's made be Logik. It's so she can listen to my Sister on the Dutch Radio 4 when she's playing.

It is soooo impressive and easy to work - I was quite amazed and may buy another for myself. I found ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio 4 in seconds and then you can scroll through all the ' listen agains' in seconds.

Only drawback is it needs a mains supply - and must be within the vicinity of a wireless router.

A stain on your steel my feline friend. Ignore the warnings and click on the edition of The Now Show at Listen again, Real Player, and it talks about 'Cameron went to Rwanda on Sunday' which was 22nd July which makes the edition this last Fridays. Try finding evidence of the EXISTENCE of Occupation (other than a Search using 'Japan' to get to the Press Office)

Anyway, now I can ungrit my teeth, cos I dont have to listen to more of Marcus Briggestock. (Everyone from Cameron to Peter Hain can engage in a radical rant. The proof of the pudding is 'Who do these ranters think should do the manual work?' The answer is THEM, David, Peter nad Marcus and their kin for three generations (at least). Avoiding the worst sort of job is a good half of what capitalist exploitation is about. (The other half is being richer than the average of world income).)

I don't kow where you're looking, but I can find no sign of the Now Show on Listen Again, certainly not under "Comedy & Quizzes".

Somehow I didn't think you'd be a fan of Mr Brigstock...

    (9) I still think its a feline folly my iron(ic) icon cat:

Where you are to read this, Search 'The Now Show'. Go to their home page and click on Listen Again, THERE!

Go through to Stand Alone Radio Player (in the ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio Player box) and let Prigstock twitch those velvet ears of yours.

He's as bad as those Tories in Rwanda doing a fortnights work to make up for what their ancestors did to Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Kenya and all. (I can hear the twerp saying 'How am I responsible for what my ancestors did?' with his fee paying public school accent. Well, Prigclot if it isn't your ilk's turn to do the manual work who's is it?)

Meanwhile the illegal occupations go on and the one programme that says that military attacks on the occupying soldiers and countries there is legal and what IS illegal is punishing people woh take those sorts of actions.
I'm not surprised to be able to find Pigsock instead.

One trick the market manipulators use is to keep the DOW in NY bouyant until Europe closes and then accept the crash hit afterwards, hoping Europe will not follow the fall the next day.

But DOW is already down a little so expect huge falls there after 5pm our time and a sorry Europe tomorrow morning.

Hey, my predictions are even worse than the experts the Beeb dragged in to calm nerves last week - she said the FTSE at 6500 was the absolute floor!!!!!

Coping with 'cognitive dissonance' (studied when a bunch of 'world enders' found it hadn't. Ended I mean. I mean the world even though all their predicitions said it had. (Said it would, then siad it had)).
There WERE huge CHANGES in NY after Europe closed rahter uncertainly.
Isn't it then that the 'public face' money (secret authorities market interventions) went in?
At a hunderd points above what it was when EURPE closed, the Dow is offering the FTSE 50 points up first thing tomorrow. Which it will take.

Wednesday, Thursday, who knows? But another step-down 200 point crash in London after the market has seen thru' American games playing is very possible.

There is a real crisis in American banks attitudes at the moment and it is the sort of crisis that needs Keynesian policies which are anathema to the Bush - appointed authorities there.
