After :-)

we got this email from Glyn Polliington:

"I enjoyed your item tonight on the invention and use of emoticons in email and other forms. Your final question to the interviewee was which symbol he would choose for his gravestone. Well, more suited to web designers and html authors I suppose, but I really like this one-

And he's set a test for all our frogger fotographers:

Since August 14 'I had plenty of time to avoid the train crash..'

Since August 14 'I have been like someone with an open exposure camera filming fast moving events'

Examples please, on a post card.

I am sorry but that looks like a fake, to me. The top of the stone looks too weathered to be less than several decades old, at least. Nice idea though.

I know it's the PM blog but Robert Peston was very funny on Today this morning. You could actually hear Sarah waving her arms and tutting as he just wouldn't 'be brief' How I laughed. How about Nils doing an impression of Robert. Now that would be funny!
And Eddie no longer twittering... good move!

Carl (6) Peston was indeed in classic form this morning. I hope Sarah beat him round the head with her script afterwards. I'm sure he really is brilliant, but I wish someone would teach him to sound less like an overexcited schoolboy.

Aha, but who actually saw Robert Peston on tv last night ?(Newsnight, I think). I was riveted to the screen when they said he would be on, as I've always wanted to know how he looks when he speaks. Bit of a disappointment really - he looks rather low key & quite normal.

I think his speech is possibly influenced by some of the politicians' tricks - if you dra-a-a-aw o-u-t so-o-o-me of your v-o-o-owels, then the interviewer can't easily work out when to cut in. I was laughing at the interview this morning with Sarah Montague as well. Every time she tried to shut him up, he came out with another "Absolu-u-u-utely cru-u-u-cial" piece of information, the possession of which knowledge would enable us to understand the whole matter at last. At least I think that's what he said. I enjoyed listening to him anyway. Such enthusiasm!
