Indebted, as ever to Big Sis
for her pictorial preview of an Any Questions location.
By the way - have you noticed the lack of Twitter? We took it down because it didn't do what we hoped it would. Postings took an age to make it onto the Blog - we tested the other day and one took more than an hour and a half...so we've stopped it. Judging by comments on other threads it won't be missed...
Ah what a shame. We won't be able to see what you were doing yesterday now Eddie
Can we expect an exciting train ride tomorrow, Eddie?
Btw, I gather Rod Stewart was interested in buying Dunstall Hall, but it was instead purchased by a property tycoon.
Gillianian, will you be heading over tonight?
Aaaaaarrrrgggghhh!! No, I'm not being a pirate again - I'm kicking myself for not looking at the ´óÏó´«Ã½ website more often! Barton is litterally just up the road from me - and I didn't know AQ, or more importantly, EM was going to be there tomorrow!!!!!
I'm glad you knew what you wanted it to do.
We signed-up in droves to follow you, Eddie.
I've just had a message to my VH email that yet another person is following me. It's beginning to make me feel bad about not having "Done" anything since 27th. July. So I've reported that I'm wishing we'd get some serious rain.
But, Gillianian, you might yet be in time!
Check the website! Remember Fifi ...... She managed it! Tell 'em you're a personal friend of the Lord Mair, blackmail the event organiser, bribe the doorman - or go in your pirate gear and just demand entry on the night!
Gillian (3)
They never tell us anything...
Aha
wittier without twittier
Gillian, don't forget that Fifi only got her tickets on the day! Have you tried to contact the Box-Office to see if there are any returns available? Or do you have other plans for the evening?
H.
Thank you, Eddie. And the rest of the team, I suppose, but mostly Eddie.
'T witter was definitely slowing things down horribly. Besides, it was yet another way of using up time.
Speaking of which, do whoever take away an hour from each of us every year and then give it back again six months later *ever* give anyone interest on that enforced loan? I think we should be told. I figure that somebody somewhere owes me a couple of days by now.
(Malicious, eh? I think They may be trying to hide their guilt!)
I see its only the midlands. Thats my theory that mr Dumbledore wont do the north out the window.
Is it a beeb limo trip or trian journey? A flight to east midlands seems a tad excessive. My map suggets that there is a marina nearby. Does the beeb have a yacht?
Stewart M (10) A yacht??! Eddie needs a narrowboat to navigate ''up the cut''!
I like your theory Fishers (9), I too demand interest on the time borrowed from my life every summer.
Looking forward to AQ - and lovely postcard BigSis :-)
Ah, it's from John Taylor High, my old alma mater!
We lived in Yoxall, about three miles away. Attended there from September 1974 until March 1976, when we moved over to Shropshire.
If I ever see that hell-hole again it'll be too soon. The PE staff's idea of sports lessons was a cross-country run, every single time, no matter the weather, all year around. I can't remember any sports coaching at all in five terms there.
Other than that; it was boring *too-big* classes led by bored teachers in a boring flat-pack, neo-Stalinist concrete school.
At lunchtime everyone got chucked out of the buildings and stood around the grounds with their mates for an hour because there was nothing to do, no facilities for anything. It was a lockout, with staff guarding the doors to stop anyone who dared to try and sneak back in.
No inspiration at all, just a drudge that I was glad to leave.

Doesn't sound very "Alma" to me.
[My first post of the DAY is deemed too early. What kind of throughput monitor doesn't get up before 11:07 am?]
Si (14), John Taylor High? Named after the bass player from Duran Duran? Strange -- I could've sworn they didn't form until 1979...
Chris (9)
...but what about those of us born between March and October? We are 'given' an extra hour before we ever have to hand it back...!!
I guess this is a sort of 'social' policy, stealing from the winter peeps to give to the summer people!?!

aargh, it's even worse than I thought.
I suppose we ought to be grateful that They don't organise it so everyone dies at the right time of year to keep the books straight.
Oh
Er, does anyone have any stats on the correlation between birthdays and dates of death?
