The Beach
What is the Beach?
It’s a place to go when the stresses of your real life need relieving. Sometimes it is fairly quiet and you might feel like you’re the only one around, but you can leave your ‘footprints’ for others to find later on. Othertimes it is the home for a real party, with constant gossip, leg-pulling, rumour, innuendo, chit-chat and weirdness.
If this were a forum (and it sort of is because we post responses to each other, not just to Eddie, hence our term for ourselves 'Froggers', a combination of forum and blogger) then the beach would be the off-topic area.
It's a tropical location, no matter the time of year it's always warm and pleasant there.
Sunrises and sunsets are spectacular, the evenings balmy. It has a number of different locations; the Nick Clarke waterfront bar; the smokers corner; Fido's Run for the dog-walkers; the Naughty Step and many others.
How do you find your way around? There is no direct answer to the question.
The beach is a moveable feast, literally. It will be renewed by our Lord and master Mr. Edward de Mair each Friday morning. This is because we have found in the past that when the number of posts exceeds about 600 the entire thing becomes unwieldy and unstable. A case of the beach turning to quicksand.
Froggers often leave bottles / glasses / trays of their favourite tipple on the bar for others to sample, not to mention big / small eats.
There is a herd of camels who frequent the sands, which froggers are very fond of. There are sun-loungers, so you can take it easy and catch some rays. Quite often the late-night attendees will have a barbie.
It's a fun place, with only one real rule; Be nice to each other; we are ALL chums here. New Froggers are ALWAYS welcome.
The real debate happens on the other threads. The beach is a place for banter, whimsy, relaxation and friendship, where jarring comments are not particularly welcome. There are certain very mild protocols, which you tend to pick up as you go along. So slip your shoes off, feel the sand between your toes, relax and enjoy yourself.
morning all. looks like the beach isn't at risk of flooding. phew. think i'll curl up in a hammock till after high tide then maybe head off for a swim.
in the mean time anyone for coffee?
Ooh am I the first to paddle on a new beach? How exciting - well I'd better get the kettle on. There's a pot of coffee brewing already. And I am just about to make pop some hot buttered toast on the bar, help yourselves...
Oh, and Witchi - its your last day!!! Have brought some yummy berries and cherries muesli and jugs of OJ for you, and anyone else who wants the healthy option.
Didn't realise Belinda was on the east coast - hope you are ok m'dear??
Right better get back to RL, got to leave early for the airport - hence my early start.
Eddie - do you know if one should paint a wound with Arbrex after cutting a dead branch from a Victoria plum tree? I hear there are divided opinions on this matter.
MONKS. Conduct a life of celibacy and emotional solitude without joining a monastery by simply living with my wife. It's more comfortable and you'll be able to watch TV and use the Internet.
RECREATE the danger of a parachute jump in safety by visiting Google Earth and clicking the scroll bar until you reach the ground. Add realism to the exercise by putting a fan on blowing full in your face.
DEVOUT Catholics. If the Lord has not yet made Himself visible, perhaps you are looking in the wrong place. Try paying more attention to the flaking paint on your walls, the rust on your frying pan or the mouldy stains on your carpet as these are the sort of places where He usually turns up.
DRIVERS. Save money by putting much larger wheels on the back of your car. That way you will always be going downhill, thereby saving on fuel.
Anyone called the lifeguard about this mer-creature that appears to have washed up on the shore?
Regards
John

-are you all o.k.?

Hope allgoes hunkedory today witchi- new doors opening- always good.
Lovely new beach for us to enjoy . I can certainly do with some space to myself for an hour or two.
Wake me up when the pips go...

Well, I see a few brave souls have already made it to the beach ahead of me. (waves at Fiona and Little Red). Here's a plate of apple & cinnamon muffins to go along with the coffee, and a pot of Orange, Mango & Cinnamon herbal tea for those not wanting caffeinated drinks....
I'm off to set up the kite I've brought to the beach. Anyone want to help me fly it?
HAPPY LAST DAY, WW!!!!

Fiona - thats so thoughtful of you! Yum! Have brought some fizz down and it's chilling as we speak. Have promised not to get too excited for fear of early burn out, but am sure it won't be long before I have to pop a cork or two!
Hope everyone else is having a lurvely friday xx
little Red,This beach may surge but not with the tide. It has its own tidal system of always having a perfect ration of dunes to soft sand to hard sand to sea. Looks like I'm joining you for coffee though no one wants to see me today.
FF - count me on the kite flying. I feel a Mary Poppins moment coming on!
Witchi - well I've been up since 5.30 and at work since 7, so I'll be ready for some bubbly by about 11! (its never too early or too late for bubbly as far as I am concerned) ;-)
Thanks for the top tips - made me chuckle!
x
DOG OWNERS. Never lose your TV remote control again. Simply sellotape it to the back of your dog, and hey presto! Whistle, and the device is at your beck and call! This can also apply to hot drinks, after intense training.
THEATRE NURSES. If the surgeon you work with is called Simon, brighten up mundane procedures by refusing to pass any equipment to him until he uses the prefix "Simon Says". Remember even when he shouts "Give me the ligature, this child is DYING?!" he's probably just trying to get you out.
FEEL a bit like God for the day by making some little people out of plasticine, and then judging them harshly.
Ahh, the beach, seems ages since I've been over here :o). Hello to all who have got here before me today and all the very best to you Witchi for new beginnings.
VizTTE - ah bless you, you've done it again, dragged a gal out of the doldrums by her bootstraps, or something like that. You're a tonic to be sure :o)
Stewart - I'll share some of your coffee, and I wouldn't mind a peripatetic appointment, I'm fading fast on one side and apparently not due in RL til February!
WW: Up up and away .....!!!!! Enjoy the feeling.
More importantly, enjoy your weekend. , The first few days of a new job can be a bit daunting, though we hope not in your case. The main thing is to be out of your current predicament.
Quick update on RL to be posted on the FB Beach.;o)
BigSis - hope RL stuff is ok! This weekend is going to be great - mostly spent 'smudging' the new place and making it ours (and getting to grips with the Aga!) Thankfully have already got the lesson plans in place for next week so just have to show up on time!
Fiona - you are so right...pop splash fizz chink...splendid. Please feel free, more than enough to go round!
JC - any update on the mer-creature?
Hello,
Thanks for asking - just posted on the Flood thread. All ok here; we battened down the hatches and there's been no damage of any kind. Very noisy though!
Who would like a fruit pastry?
Not for me, thanks, Belinda. I'll just have another glass of orange juice.
So glad, though, that all was well for you last night. Is the worst over now, do you know?
Congrats on your last day WW - feast on the Borwnies and ice-cream, if there's any left, and I'll be down to slurp some bubbles later in the day - and I'll bring my kite, because that's just a wonderful idea.
xx
Here is a picture of a Borwny for you Perky
Cute, isn't he?
Ah, the breeze is just right to alunch the kite. Here goes!....

Ah, that's better :)
Viz tip top: cheers for those!!! what a hoot!

FF - what a beautiful sight! Have rigged up a straw so you can have some fizz whilst flying!
oh dear. the RL wind and rain has blown me about on my bike today (thought no flooding). Shall have to lay down in a hammock with a long cool drink ;) to recuperate.
Weeeeeeeee!!!! That's a great kite, Ffred!
There's so much good news here today - Fiona's off to my daughter's birthplace, Big Sis is back on track, Wonderful Witchi is re-launching herself, Belinda's safe and dry.....and I've had a cuppa with the lovely DIWyman! - I wish he'd been able to stay longer ;o)
And as if that wasn't enough, I've just bought some thin-legged trousers to replace the fat-legged trousers which are too big for me!!
Fresh cream doughnuts for all on the NCBar!!
Thanks, WW! Have you opened the fizz already?
UpTheTrossachs - what a fab picture - thanks for sharing it. Not quite the right thing to go with my ice-cream, though, I guess.
Let me top you up with champers, WW. I feel a bad head coming on tomorrow!
FF - beach fizz has been going for a while! (RL...only an hour or so to go!)
Gillian - what a fab day, great trouser news :) ! (there's an unlikely sentence!)
I am smiling a ridiculous amount at all this happiness sloshing around; ain't life grand!
Back to the kites
About time to crack open another keg of Liffey. I've got the pizza oven warming up, and it should be ready for a fine starry hight's feasting

As new life starts tonight am not sure when I'll be back frogging again - wanted to say thnaks for all the good wishes and support over the last few months.
Will be back to with you lovely lot asap.
Have a great weekend xx
Perky - bad head? This is the Beach!

Witchi ... won't you have internet access in the West Wing??

Fifi
.... oh come on. How can this be construed as malicious? Twice??
Appy, I'll join you in a game of scr*bble...
Oh dear, I seem o have picked out YGDFFAS as my seven letters. I guess you'd better go first!
Gillian (25) : I thought at Bournemouth that you might have been reducing! Well done you clever girl.
Not sure how much more frogging I can do this weekend, but look forward to catching up with lots of you asap.
Appy (33) : Your move!
Fifi xxxxx
Hello! I don't get the chance to come here often these days, but I thought I'd pop down and get a breath of sea air.
Mary
We ought to get together FF, as I've got AEEIOOU and a blank,
Appy?!
FF, that's surely a word in Welsh. Borwny sounds Cymraeg, after all, so maybe there's a Welsh zeitgeisty thingie going on here.
hello, me lovelies, it's been a good day here, too.
Petit Rouge;
You should have brought your bike to this Beach. As Steart M pointed out to you at (10), there's plenty of hard sand here for riding on.
I'm off for a spin now, before breakfast. Care to join me?
Si.
Good morning froggers, overcast and very breezy in RL. So I am going to spend the day on the Beach to catch up with some quality time with my towel to increase the 'froopy guy index'.
Anyhoo, I haven't been scavenging for fresh mushrooms this morn so it will have to be cheesy scrambled eggs and bacon for breakfast. I will leave them in the hostess trolley at NC's.
Appy.....you will have to go....I have only got KCOLSPAC.....
DiY:)
oh.....502'd.......rhymes with rugger.......and again at 07:31
to be 502'd or not to be 502'd.....that is the question...............any ideas out there on how to know if yer posting might have got through?
DiY:(
2nd try @ 08:08
Morning all, thought I'd do a full Scottish breakfast this morning. It's the artery clogging works - fried black pudding, sliced scottish sausage, bacon, beans, fried eggs, fried bread, fried mushrooms, fried tomatoes - you get the picture. Anyone join me?
There's muesli and fruit on the bar for those of a healthier disposition.
Breakfast with added 502 apparently...
I seem to have my typical hand ZWKVQRLL.
Pass, your turn Aperitif
Dt (45)
LOl....I did wonder who had the Z and a W..mind you you could have spelt out QWKRLLZ, it doth mean 502 in 'Klingon'...
DiY:)
Here's a bottle of Eric's favourite tipple if he can find his way here....and champagne for the rest of us, to toast his success on the first iPM.
That blog seems to be working now - what about this one?
Oh, and there was me thinking it was Orcish.
On the bar there are three large boxes of Duc d'Or truffles from Belgium, one each of these made with white chocolate, milk chocolate and plain chocolate. Feel free to help yourselves, do, anyone who isn't involved in a chocolate fast this month.
For those who are turning their back on cocoa products, the boxes of orange and lemon fruit slices may be some use?
Cheers! Have a gorilla!
Typical!!!
I thought I'd nip by, and see if I could play a humdinger of a word - expected to get 502d, - just put down the first thing - and it goes straight through!!
Right, P, (three), A,S,S (er, um, four, five, six), any letters on a magic square? Ah, great! the S (second one) is on a double letter, making a grand total of:
7, please bob.
Seen on El Reg (The Register):
In a possible bid for Mum of the Year (or the intervention of social services, depending on your views on such things), a Nottinghamshire woman sent a stripper to her son's school for his 16th birthday. So stunned was the teacher that she allowed the show to continue, as the boy was whipped and led around on a leash, until the stripper urged the boy to rub cream on her buttocks. The birthday boy then fled the scene. His mother maintains that she intended to send a gorilla, which in itself raises worrying implications.
Bet the class won't forget that lesson in a hurry :)
But unfortunately, not for the planned content :(
Simon (41) Sorry I didn't get to bike yesterday, the 502 monsters stood between me and the beach. Don't suppose I could interest you today?
fresh brew on the bar plus apple and cinnamon yoghurt. should have fresh croissants soon, once i've been to the shop. oh and i think there's some homemade apple and blackberry jam here somewhere too.
Peeps from behind shower curtain......have all the nasty 502's gone now?
Going down from the S:
SNIFFLE - scoring, erm, one, five, (F's are 2 right?), nine, er, oh. right.
9.
Gillian - congratulations, & respect!!!
Whisht (32) hahaha! v clever I like it!!
Perky - I almost slipped inadvertantly this morning - singing at the cathedral, offered choice of hot chocolate or coffee, nearly went for the wrong one - oooopS! Luckily I stopped myself just in time, & didn't inhale either :-)
Humph - I will try to get my recalcitrant scanner to work and post MPB's wonderful drawing later - watch out for the flickering place!!
How about a proper birthday party tomorrow, with sandwiches, jelly, ice cream & pass the parcel???
Gillian - congratulations, & respect!!!

SP - thanks for the fruity treats - my family kindly bought me some jelly babies to enjoy in front of a movie as they stuffed themselves with chocolate (after waving it under my nose, of course). I'm feeling rather good about the whole thing, actually. Not missing it as much as I thought I would.
Yeah, right. Who am I kidding.
*sigh* - anyone for a jelly baby?
Good morning all, and.....
Hoppy Bathday, Eddie!
Perky (58) Can we save some for Eddie's tea party later, please? GM is preparing quite a spread!
Happy Birthday, Eddie xx
Happy Birthday Eddie, as a greener alternative to inflating balloons with helium I have inscribed your name, age and a suitable greeting just above the high tide line - over there, see... it's on a part of the beach the camels don't usually frequent so should last at least as long as a card.
Have a good one.
A.
xxx
PS I can't guarantee you will immediately understand life, the universe and everything - I'm still working on that one and I'm way ahead of you.
Happy Birthday, o esteemed and revered leader !!
You are all lovely. A bottle up bubbly we didn't manage to get through after iPM will be at the NC bar presently.
Any requests for party food? Sandwich filling suggestions? Just starting on the cake, quite difficult icing a *hump*.....
And there's STILL some Liffey left in the secret stash! (And a wee bit of herbal delight for those who know where to look)
Happy day, Sir Edward Muir!
Slainte!

GM (64) I'll make a sherry trifle, to help out, with sprinkles on the top. The fresh cream on top is of the cholesterol-free variety. ;o)
Aren't other people's birthdays lovely? Fizz, Fun and Feasting for Eddie today - and then it's Fiona's birthday at the end of the week! Yippeee!!
Eddie - I think it's traditional for the 42nd birthday to be celebrated with a beach-based game or two. What do you fancy??
Beach Twister?
Beach Twister, now yer a talkin....I'll get me Speedos
Lovely Whisht! (32), and how nice to see you here :-)
Yes please Eric (68), I warn you, I'm good! I'm giving up playing Scrabble anyway -- Fearless keeps using Welsh words and Mr Noodle and DeepJohn are taking eight instead of seven letters every time!!! Sheesh!
OK, right hand on red...
DI Wy its my turn for the speedos. I just need to put this hand on that red dot and then this leg over fifi's...Ouch! my back!
Stewart! I really don't think you should be wearing Speedos in *that*position!!!
Ok..Stewart, your turn with the PM Speedos...now if I put my left leg on there, reach under Eddies right leg for that red spot and hey presto....I have a cramp in my neck.
I do a mean pavlova! Shall I?
Okay, it's left foot green.... argh! That's got me doing the splits!
Oh yes please Val! It'll go fantastically with the bubbly!
DIY - I thought when you said you were donating the Speedos to Stewart that you might be wearing an alternative.....!!!!
Not sure I can manage Twister with my gammy hip but I'll give it a g-oooooooooh! No, don't move me, just an intravenous drip of something alcoholic should do the trick!
Twister is a doddle when you have four feet!
TIH - I'm not sure that's allowed. And FFred, THAT's definitely not allowed.
Now, I need an incentive to stretch my right hand all the way to that blue spot. Could someone place a nice glass of bubbly there, please?
I suspect the beach-twisters will find themselves on the naughty step before long...
no birthday would be complete without cheese and pineapple chunks on cocktail sticks :)
now, left foot on yellow.
GMX (76)
....wot ever for?...It's Eddie birthday, therefore..... tah dah.....birthday suit!
.......shame about all the wrinkles though!
DiY:)
Right hand on red, eh, Appy? Mine's on Black.

If you push the "extra ice" button on the soft drink vending machine, you won't get any ice. If you push the "no ice" button, you'll get ice, but no cup.
Fearless, you might have warmed your hands up first.....!
And I HOPE that's DIY's elbow I've got prodding my back?
Drat! I forgot to have my first swig of Eric's champers at the bar before getting tangled in this Gordian debacle. Oh well... here goes the left foot on the yellow spot.
Sorry Val, was that yours? So sorry....
;o) Fifi xx
Eeek, at the last count there were eight of us on this Twister-mat-made-for-four!
And that's not counting the horse!!
Thanks for getting the intermittent one off me. I can get my breath back now.
I've got the cocktail shaker out what's your poison?
And have you noticed how many of them have "something" on red, Appy (84)? I know that you think sport should be played, rather than watched, but I am (ahem) enjoying the view from here and will wait until the next game before joining in. Happy thing-day, Eddie. Thank you for the suggestion of the beach game.
H.
do we have enough milk for white russians all round?
and then later a quick paddle, or for those more adventurous - or way ahead of us DIY ;) - a skinny dip!
Well! What a tangled heap you all are! I may need some grease to get you all apart!! And how you all managed to finish the bubbly, pavlova, cheese & Pineapple sticks & jelly & ice cream from that position I'll never know!
And it seems that you even managed to pass the parcel - I see Appy was the winner - there she is proudly clutching the Speedos trophy... at least I think it's a trophy.....
oOOh! there you all are! a trophy!
Good grief! It's not a trophy- its the speedos all knotted up around something...
so what's Diy wearing and why is he waving in the water?
Let'splay dodge-Speedos! To me Appy..
Phew! That was a close thing, I didn't think we'd ever get untangled. Cocktails StewartM? yes please, I haven't had a Brandy Alexander in about 20 years, I think that would just slip over nicely now.
Now I seem to have become addicted to Scrabble on FB, who else would like a game?
oh what a giggle!
what a hoot
whos that swimming
in a birthday suit!?!
white rushins all round lil red, sounds good!!
Cripes guys and gals, what a treat I've been missing!
So, you're all in a heap with jelly in your ears and pineapple up your noses, and is that DiY with NO speedos on? Or is that just the angle he's at?
A very late Hippo Birdie to EM, to help the celebrations along, I've bought some late evening tipples. Liffey for those that do, some vintage port and some rather nice cognac, there's also some very dark l*ndt chocs to round it off!
Val P Brandy Alexanders are one of my specialities. Do you have a sprinkle of nutmeg on top?
Glad these speedo's give plenty of support whilst I'm shaking.
Stewart - you needn't think the late hour precludes you from the naughty step, you know. Finish making drinks for everyone and then "hie yoursel' off" as Fifi would say!!
Ooo Late night tipples - lovely! I've made a big bonfire up near the dunes - we can toast some marshmallows if anyone's up for it. Ooops! perhaps I should rephrase that for DIY....
Anyone else travel back into November earlier and hear Bill Oddie announce lots of beaver action on Autumnwatch? Hoho!
*big stretch* ... *big moan*....
oh dear. everything sems to be aching this morning, my arms and legs from the twister, my head from the white russians, and my eyes from watching stewart in those speedos making the drinks.
Here's the coffee for those that need it.
I don't think I can even raise my head from the hammock this morning. Twister followed by cocktails and a side-game of hunt-the-speedos is clearly the way to go.
Li'l Red - bless you for the lovely strong coffee.
Wow, that was some party - sorry I missed it.
Soothing camomile teas on the bar and I can recommend lavender water applied to the temples for the headaches. It's a Victorian remedy but it does work. Large bottle next to the purple hammock, didn't want to put it on the bar in case of post party confusion. 'Not to be taken internally'.
A.
xx
Blimey! Woke up in this here hammock and for a minute couldn't remember why I was clutching these knotted speedoes! That was fun :-) I think we should have another game tonight. You playing this time Humph?
AaaaaaaaaahhH!
Cofffeeeeee!!!
*rolls over and falls off of naughty step* ........oohhh me 'ead....where am I, who r u, what day is it, where are all my clothes?.........OMG.....it wasn't a dream!
Well that was jolly good fun.....hair of dog anyone. And why is the twister matt now a furlong square....?
Appy (99)
I'm up for it....no..no.....sorry that didn't come out right.
I am willing to partake in the sporting game of Twister this eve should thee wish to play!
Stewart M, my turn with the PM Speedos, yer turn in the barrel
DiY
well take-out from the indonesian has sure helped brighten my aching day :)
and this cunningly named "green punch" seems to be going down quite nicely, though i'm sure the e-numbers will send me do-lally later on. nothing new there then. here's a few spare cans for those that dare...
DIY you can have the speedos. After the party I thik the barrel is a better option.
Tomato juice anyone?
I say, arent the banks having security problems today. alliance & Leicester and Halifax have both sent me e - mails asking me to verify my account details. I think Barclays did last week.
If I post the e mail addresses here do you think it would help you all to re-verify your password and account details?
More importantly how do I spam the spammers?
How do you spam the spammers Stewart (104)?
Have you seen this?
www.419eater.com and go to 'letters archive'.
Stewart (104) I once replied via an IP address scrambler, filling each box with the Anglo-Saxon for "Go Forth & Multipy" (including an @ where appropriate). I know it's not much, but I rather enjoyed doing it :)
Stewart M (103 & 104)
Thanks, I feel somewhat undressed without Speedos.
And..
re banks.....
....aren't they just?. Mind you I wasn't really sure to the answer of your security question.
But what the heck.....'Ten - four and Rubber duck good buddy', seemed to fit!
DiY
Appy (105), thanks for that - a most entertaining read.
Sadly both my elderly mother and father-in-law have been caught out by phone based scams. Fortunately father-in-law gave out the wrong bank details and my mother realised after putting the phone down that she'd been had by a highly plausible story about BT wanting her to make changes to her landline account. Within half an hour someone had set up internet access to her bank account. Fortunately we were able to get everything blocked and stopped before damage was done and she has learned the lesson.
Very quiet on the beach today. I'll just fold away the twister, and tidy up the empties from last night. Is it a bloggage or just post party malaise?
Fresh towels on the bamboo rack and I've shaken the crumbs out of the hammocks. Think I'll go for a gentle swim in the moonlight before turning in.
think it's the tuesday night syndrome... last weekend is long gone and we're not yet halfway through this working week. but the good news is that tomorrow is wednesday. it's all downhill to the weekend fro there on in :)
a nice cup of green tea and settle down with a good book in the hammock over here.
Oh my that's not a hammock at all, DIY seems to have left the speedos behind!
AnneP (109) Speaking for myself, it is the shock of seeing BigSis on Alcohol in the recent comments section. I thought that she was sticking to the orange juice for today.
H.
Stewart - I got my first one of those last week and fortunately it was from a bank that I don't have an account with, because it did look quite plausible......despite the fact that I know one should never do it, had it been from one of mine, I might have been tempted to look further :o(
By the cringe, those Brandy Alexanders were good, and I didn't even have a sore head this morning. Where is everyone tonight though? Think I'll just have forty winks over in the fur-lined hammock, zzzzz
Oh, and GMx, yes I'd been waiting for that comment since the beavers appeared last week, it was only a matter of time. I don't know how they're managing to keep their faces straight ;o)Bill and Kate that is!
The beavers are fabulous though aren't they?
Big S - sorry, didn't realise I was still there and I was wondering where the music was coming from on my computer!! Hope you get this and understand what I'm blathering on about!!
I really should be tucked up in bed (as the *man* is coming to service my boiler at 8am) but couldn't resist a starlight stroll down the beach. It's such a balmy night here..... great to feel the sand between your toes!x
Hello everyone - I've been quiet trying to get sorted for a 10 day break .. better not advertise it too much but the cameras are running and hopefully the regular detectives will keep an eye out. Nice music from annasee and the harp for 10 days to soothe the visitors.
We are off to Gran Canaria at 06:30 this morning and just got everything sorted.
Anne P - we finally ate your squash last night which was gourgeous. thank you soooo much!
To all my Froggy friends I hope you are all alright and looking forward to taking more of an active role in a couple of weeks.
If I get a chance I'll try and get a photo back - though I've just spent 1 hour looking for the camera card - which seems to have gone astray.

Oooh, lovely. An early-morning stroll along the shoreline, with a little bit of breeze to blow away the cobwebs. How lovely.
I'm in a brioche mood this morning, so there's basket of warm rolls on the bar, along with butter and jam and a pot of coffee. Tuck in, do.
GM - a fellow fiddler! It was great to hear Pearlman last night. I must dig around in my CD box (still unpacked form the mvoe) and find some violin music to work to this morning.

Hm, here I am and it appears that the legs have fallen over the blog again! Will try and leave some coffee and pastries on the bar, off for a quick jog....maybe see you all when I get back!
So.... is it safe to come out from behind the dunes? Has Mr 502 gone away?
Perky - yes me too! Inspired to do some practice yesterday!!!

My dear Froggy Friends,
I'm so sorry I haven't been on the beach much of late. My job has become so busy I just don't know where the day goes. So, in a quiet moment I felt it important to come to the beach and let you know that I haven't forgotten you all.
I am making it my aim to get on the beach at least once at lunchtime during the working week back in RL. And if you're really lucky, Bistro Wonko may open for bookings again on Fridays, once I've got my job back under control.
As a parting gift for today I'm leaving a large jug of Winter Pimms on the bar, gently mulled with apple juice, lemonade nutmeg and sliced oranges.

We look before and after,
And pine for what is not;
Our sincerest laughter
With some pain is fraught;
Our sweetest songs are those that tell of saddest thought.
I like that.
