so Happy Christmas!

and I have been trying to download this without the help of broadband.

I had intended to put all the unposted pics here this morning, but it's taking nine minutes to download one on dial-up so please forgive me. The rest will follow later in the week!

Franes O...it was to have been yours with this intriguing tease..

"Hi, Chris, Eddie and all,

Here are some advent pics.

I've just been on a four-day digital photography course. One of our projects was to shoot objects important to us in unusual places. I took a favourite party dress to a rather grand Adam-ceilinged room not so far from BH.

It started by just hanging around..."

Sadly it wasn't to be. Here is one from my archive for you. Will post the other later in the week.

Thank you for all your support this year...and roll on January 7th...

And a VERY Happy Christmas to you Eddie and the PM Team and fellow "Froggers"

For many, this day is one of the most important in the calendar and the consequences of today's actions can affect people's lives for a considerable time

So, maybe we should take a moment to consider...

A moment on the Lips, a LIFETIME on the Hips

T'was the month after Christmas, and all through the house
Nothing would fit me, not even a blouse.
The cookies I'd nibbled, the eggnog I'd taste
All the holiday parties had gone to my waist.

When I got on the scales there arose such a number!
When I walked to the store (less a walk than a lumber).
    I'd remember the marvellous meals I'd prepared;
The gravies and sauces and beef nicely rare鈥檇,
The wine and the rum balls, the bread and the cheese
And the way I'd never said, "No thanks, if you please."

As I dressed myself in my husband's old shirt
And prepared once again to do battle with dirt,
I said to myself, as I only can,
"You can't spend a winter disguised as a man!"

So-away with the last of the sour cream dip,
Get rid of the fruit cake, every cracker and chip
Every last bit of food that I like must be banished
"Till all the additional ounces have vanished.鈥

    I won't have a cookie-not even a lick.
I'll want only to chew on a long celery stick.
I won't have hot biscuits, or corn bread, or pie,
I'll munch on a carrot and quietly... cry.

I'm hungry, I'm lonesome, and life is a bore...
But isn't that just what January鈥檚 for?
Unable to giggle, life's no longer a riot...
But hey, Happy Christmas and New Year to all and, to all, a GOOD DIET!

Merry Christmas all, & special thanks to Eddie for blogging on Christmas Day without broadband - there can be no greater devotion to duty than that!

We've spent most of last night & this morning so far on the phone to antipodean relatives. Not really getting anything done here as far as a meal is concerned, but we're not bothered. Yet. I suppose hunger mey strike soon.

Really foggy in Manchester. Lights on in every room. Quite gloomy. Carol concerts yesterday were a riot. Apart from finishing later than we thought. (Had forgotten to allow for conductor's chat...) Some of the audience were dressed as elves, a snowman & (I think ) a reindeer - they stood up & jived through all the really poppy stuff. It was fun to watch them, but they must have been absolutely BOILING inside the costumes.

Anyway, Happy Christmas again, fellow froggers!

I'm taking advantage of the family being downstairs watching Shrek 2 to sneak up and log on to say hi. Lunch is nicely settling, and a glass of red is not far away:)

Thanks again to Eddie and everyone else involved in the Blog. You've shown how utterly pointless ideas (WOYW, iPM photos, and the Postcode Map) can take on a life of their own, and kept us all amused and informed for another year. Now enjoy your holiday!

7th of January? Any chance of a hint, Eddie???

Merry Christmas, Eddie, that was lovely of you to blog today, as Annasee says. I hope the rest of your day's been glitch-free and happy, and that batteries were supplied with everything.

As for the party dress, well, the images might have been a bit large, so no probs - it'll just have to go and party in the ether with DI Wyman's legendary speedos.

Charlie, what a great poem. And so true...

and best wishes to all, whatever your faith/beliefs/none of the above may be.

Sorry the poor old blog got me down in recent months - I am indeed looking forward to Jan 7, although I'm glad Eddie told us not to hold our breath - if we were to do so there wouldn't be any froggers left for all this excitement!

A British doctor is leading a drugs trial that could spell the end of the misery endured by thousands of migraine sufferers. John Chambers, a consultant cardiologist at Guy's Hospital London, says that when, on a mere hunch, he tested clopidogrel, a simple clot-busting drug, on five patients plagued by migraines, it worked, in some cases, "spectacularly well..."
