more beach!
The eagle-eyed among you may have noticed my earlier bungle which has now been removed! I posted the wrong pictures. These are, hopefully, the correct pictures ... from Jonnie.
Message from Jonnie ...
Not the typical beach pictures, however I quite liked the contrast and the way they turned out. These shots are of the 'seven sisters'.

There are always fossils in chalk, the ones I have are seashells. The hills around here are chalk and so we do not grow acid loving plants.
When I was replacing the guttering I used a piece of weathered chalk from my garden to mark the cutting and drilling positions.

The odd thing is that, while Lyme has made a big thing of fossil collecting (shops, etc., selling these at every turn), it is more of a close kept secret in the Eastbourne/Seaford area. I have a slide of that pub taken way back in the depths of history, it was taken by my father-in-law in the mid 1960's.
When I visited the pub in about the late 60's early 70's I didn't realise then that a famous American archaeologist would live in the area.
