James' Friday film reviews
- New In Town - Renee Z stars in this fish-out-of-water chick flick that's thinner than her arms. 2 stars
- Gran Torino - Clint Eastwood is an OAP vigilante in this uneven mix of comedy and politics. 2 stars
- The Class - French drama following an inner-city class over a year. Brilliantly low key and surprisingly gripping. 5 stars
- The Unborn - Boring horror about a girl haunted by her dead twin. Or something. Seriously, you won't care. 1 star
- The International - Clive Owen and Naomi Watts try to sort out the banking industry. Don't all rush at once. 3 stars

It amazes me that this man can make a living commenting on a subject he knows nothing about.

At the end of the day critics always do add their personal opinion on the film and not everyone is going to agree.
For example 'Watchmen' out tommorrw had an appauling review in the 'News of the World' last weekend by someone who clearly knew nothing about the graphic novel and claimed that it was to 'comic'?
As far as I am aware it has recieved very positive feedback with a few minor criticisms on acting.
Tim Vincent used to review for 'The People' newspaper now that was appauling the man knew nothing about movies and the less said about Paul Ross the better!

I have always been a big fan of Clint Eastwood and think he has acted and directed a number of good films but i just didn't think this film was very believable and was already dated.
The most intresting part of the film was seeing just how high Clint Eastwood was going to wear his trousers in the next scene.
The only good thing i would say about the film is the ending which had a good twist which made u think but the middle and beginning was poor.
