Friday Reviews - 11th June

Hiya, here are James's thoughts on this week's big movie releases:

'Brooklyn's Finest' - tough and grimy cop movie from Training Day director Antoine Fuqua, with gutsy acting from Ethan Hawke, Richard Gere, Don Cheadle and Wesley Snipes. 4 stars

'Letters To Juliet' - corny romance, with Amanda Seyfreid on autopilot in the Italian countryside dreaming of Romeo & Juliet. If you're looking for surprises, stay away. This has all the sparkle of an ad for pasta sauce. 1 star

'Greenberg'
- Ben Stiller puts on his serious face in this low-key tale of a middle-aged depressive, staying in LA for a couple of weeks to battle his demons. It's occasionally too twee for its own good but mainly this shows a impressive flipside to a mainstream star. 3 stars
