When Rampage were offered a chance to interview the most famous voice from the Grand Theft Auto series they obviously jumped at the chance. (Well not literally, can you imagine Mike jumping, hilarious!)
So we went off to a plush recording studio somewhere in the West End of London, to meet a very charming Lazlow Jones.
Now in case you're one of the minority people that don't know anything about GTA. Lazlow Jones is a writer, producer, director and talk show host based in New York City, USA. He was the host of Technofile, a radio show syndicated on more than 100 radio stations in America as well as Sirius XM Satellite Radio. This is big business in the states, people subscribe just to hear Lazlow talk. (Not sure if that could happen with Rampage, mixing maybe, but talking hmmmm...).

On Wednesday, Dev visited Freestyle games in a secret location in London to check out DJ Hero. These guys have spent the last 18 months working hard on producing the game, from concept to delivery. Check out what Dev got up to whilst he was there.
Fearne Cotton, Greg James and Comedy Dave have started a band. It may be a Rock Band group, but they have started one, and Wrong Jovi is their name. To celebrate gaming week on Radio 1 & 1Xtra and also Bon Jovi in the live lounge next week, they have recorded him a cover of Living On A Player.

Day 4 of "Get Your Game On" Our very speacial guests today were 1Xtras very own DJ Cameo and Funky "Are You Gonna Bang Doe" Dee on Pro Evo 2010......
The problem is DJ Cameo gave it the big talk about being the Pro DON! Errrr... "but you didn't bang doe" you lost 2-0 to Funky Dee who is still Laughing his head off!
The obvious comparison are made to Fifa10 and after 30 minutes of game play the guys gave Pro a score 3 Joysticks. 5 joysticks were given to gameplay by Funky Dee only because he demolished Cameo, but all is fare in love and war. Do you agree ?

Day 3 of Get Your Get On Week and we had Wretch 32 and Ace in to play the massive title Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City.. so what did they think of it? Check out Ace post...
Its been a while since I played a game from the Grand theft Auto series. I think it was so long ago I played it on the PS2!! (Don't laugh). Back then I took little interest in actually completing missions, for me it was more fun to walk around town stealing cars, getting chased by the police and seeing what other bits of trouble I could get into.

All this week Rampage have been on-line playing the 1xtra listeners. On Monday we took you guys on with C.O.D 4, thats after we kicked Sway and Kano out the building. Now baring in mind C.O.D 4 was voted the best game of all time by Radio1 and 1Xtra listeners it was quite obvious how passionate and heated it would be.
Treble T got dealt with harshly but let me defend my co-presenter a little.....his weapon selection was weak being a new profile and all so everyone else had the upper hand!
Any whooooo, lets move on....

Its day three of Rampage's guide to gaming. Wednesday was racing games. Racing games have been around a long time, and I mean a long time. Gran Trak 10, released by Atari in 1974 is generally considered the first racing game released but in the last 35 years a huge amount has changed.
With cartoon classics such as Mario Cart and Micro Machines and realistic NOS pumped games such as Gran Turismo and Need For Speed both dominating the market, its unsure where the racing game genre could go next?
Listen below to hear Rampage's basics of the racing game genre

Fighting games have come a long very long way from your earlier popular arcade games like Double Dragon to your Mortal Kombats and Street Fighters this is one genre that's not about to go anywhere, any time soon!
Hear Mike and Treble T giving their basic round up of the history, tips and their recommendations for the best fighting games to start off with...

Yeah yeah yeah. I laughed so much today cos we had Shola Ama and Sarah Jane testing out DJ Hero for us while we were on air. Now Sarah has just started gigging and of course Shola is a well known artist/singer. So this game had a lot of pressure cos we're all a bunch of DJs and fancy our chances.
I had no idea Shola would be so competitive apparently she's already quite an expert at Guitar Hero so she had a big advantage over Sarah. They both choose a Grand Master Flash Hip Hop mix on medium difficulty. Sarah went first and after a few teething problems got into the groove scratching, cross fading and generally looking the part. Then Shola stepped up and totally took control of the machine! If she ever needs a new career then DJ'ing could well be it!!!

Hi guys I hope you've been keeping up with all the big gaming stuff us and Radio 1 have been doing all week. NUFF things happening. (Make sure you check out the FTW game).
Ok now we all love playing video games, some like first person shooters, some like role playing others like beat 'em ups and sports sims.....the list goes on. But there's always one game that you can't put down!!! We're all guilty of it, there's that one game that you play over and over again. Mine curretnly is Fifa at the moment but RAINBOW SIX is my Achilles hea!! (TTT Mine too, addiction was setting in on that game!!).Been playing them both for about a year now non stop! Oh the memories.... playing all night then going straight to 1xtra, how unhealthy is that?
Alex Simwise, Radio 1's gaming chief decided to take a relative gaming beginner, Greg James to the Arcade. Watch the video below to see what happened on their little trip.
Mahooovise week for gaming this week, so you know we had to kick off in style! We had 2 of the best UK emcees in the building, both BET UK Hip Hop winners and general bad boy artists Kano and Sway!!
They came to the 1Xtra towers to battle it out on the brand new racing game Forza Motorsport 3. Now if don't know about Forza, its one of the top racing games that are currently out (although gotta say as someone who isn't really in racing games, I got totally hooked on Dirt 2!).
As Forza 3 was released last week, I thought it would be good to get Sway and Kano to come in and test drive it and see what they thought.
This week the Rampage team will be delivering you a basic guide to gaming every day. Today's genre was Kids and Family games. These can vary from your Nintendo classics like Wii Sports (pictured above) to old classics like Croc and Spyro the Dragon on the Playstation.
Hear Mike and Treble T giving their basic round up of the history, tips and picks for Family and Kids games below.

So last week we went to the magazine awards ceremony If you don't know about T3 they are a mag filled with gadgets from phones to 60 inch TVs and a lot of people pay attention to this mag for whats going to be the NEXT big gadget that we should buy like the iphone or Blackberry.
Held in a real plush venue just east of the city of London and hosted by TV personality Johnny Vaughn. (He did a good job). Now to me this was like walking into a sweetshop filled with your favourite chocolate and ice cream you just want it all. We had a lovely 3 course meal (Which Mike ate in about 3 minutes flat nothing new there), and then the awards commenced. We found out about the best phone of the year, best work gadget and of course the best music gadget.

I've had a chance to live with this game for a couple weeks and I really need to give you some facts.
It's based on 220sqkm of Skira Island (completely open to explore at any time in real-time day and night cycle/weather system) free roaming, drive and walk or even fly around the map.
Use over 60 authentic weapons, utilise authentic US Army Vehicles, co-op with four players. 11 mission campaign, pvp multiplayer for eight players. Now here's the twist people each player can control a four-strong fire team providing up to 32 combat ready USMC troops on-screen!!! WOOP WOOP! Accurate USMC tactics and equipment are used throughout the game.....according to Treble T?

Star Wars is the one of the greatest franchises in movie history. From story, effects to characters you can't fault this brand as a masterpiece. I wanted to be an X Wing pilot! I wanted to be a Jedi Knight! I wanted my own light sabre.
We just need a game to live up to the hype for once .....but I didn't want to play this game after an hour. The only fun part of this game came in the first 30min, as did an annoying Yoda that NEVER leaves you alone. He constantly pops up tutoring you through the game causing you to keep pausing.
Sam Page| 18:06 UK time, Wednesday, 7 October 2009
Hello Games world, Sam Page here. I just wanted to share with you a bit of news that has just crossed my desk. Mike and Treble T have been arguing back and forth about football games for the last two weeks. Is it Pro Evo? Is it Fifa? Whichever is the best makes no difference to the hardcore fans out there of either game, but what I have found out is some stats on the sales.
Fifa 10 has just become the fastest selling sports game of all time, selling a huge 1.7 million copies in its first week in Europe alone. Since the game launched, 10 million plus matches have been played online whilst 155,000 plus players have been clocked online at peak times. Is Fifa going to take the crown this year?
Treble T| 12:06 UK time, Wednesday, 7 October 2009
Wow it's October already!!! I'm just getting over the summer vibes from Ayia Napa and being a wicked man DJ around the entire UK.
But the days are getting shorter, the nights are longer, and I'm already thinking about Christmas!!!! Yes I said it Christmas, it is 2 and a bit months ahead (not that long at all).
The games wars are on for the BIG releases to make a Christmas hit:

The PSPgo, The first thing you will notice is how small it is, in fact I know I will hear all of you say "(BLEEPING) HELL look how small it is" when you open your boxes and hold it, it's just a bit bigger than the I-Phone. It now has a slide screen which conceals the D-pad buttons, analogue stick and other buttons, the brightness and volume buttons are now across the top between the L and R buttons and the USB slot and battery charge slot and cable have now been combined into one, now called a Multi-use connector. When you turn it on not much is different, the systems setting and functions are all in the same layout, the only thing you'll see sticking out of place is the new Blue Tooth settings which work just like your phone... NO IT'S NOT A PHONE NOW lol but you will be able to use Blue tooth headsets for Skype. You get a big, whopping 16Gig hard drive built in too for all your PSP needs and still has a slot for a memory stick micro. With no UMD drive you'll have to download games from the PlayStation Network but you'll get a Media Go software disc to assist in your file transfers, everything from games, mp3's, movies and photo's.

There are a few games that I'm waiting to review..... a) Because I've been playing the current one for 12 months.
b) I'm trying to work out how can they possibly improve it or...
c) I'm a great fan of the genre. This game has ticked all 3 boxes.
Now I want to make it very clear to whoever reads this blog.....
I'm NOT a Pro fan or a FIFA fan! I'M A FOOTBALL FAN! Talk done. As always I play the best football game. There are those who are blinded by the foolish thought of being a die hard Pro or Fifa game player..... what a load of nonsense. Play the BEST game. No one will cuss! You're only denying yourself the pleasure of football and we wouldn't want you to do that.
We reviewed Beaterator today, the music making software from Rockstar and Timbaland. Now first up I gotta say this is not a game it's a music making application and very impressive it is to!.
There is so much to this software I don't know where to start. Usually you would have to pay hundreds of pounds to get this kind of quality.
