Ace and Wretch 32 play the brand new GTA.
Day 3 of Get Your Get On Week and we had Wretch 32 and Ace in to play the massive title Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City.. so what did they think of it? Check out Ace post...
Its been a while since I played a game from the Grand theft Auto series. I think it was so long ago I played it on the PS2!! (Don't laugh). Back then I took little interest in actually completing missions, for me it was more fun to walk around town stealing cars, getting chased by the police and seeing what other bits of trouble I could get into.
Anyway fast forward to 2009 and the Rampage team have asked me and Wretch 32 to review the newest title in the GTA series: Grand Theft Auto IV: Episodes from Liberty City, now this is a twin box with 2 games (2 for the price of one not bad, huh). One game is the Lost and Dammed which if you're a GTA fan may have played as download, but now R* have decided to release as retail game. The other is the brand new title, The Ballad of Gay Tony which is what we were playing. The title actually gives nothing away. As far as I know there wasn't any singing or Ballads involved.
Straight away though the 1st thing you take notice of is graphics. It looks PROPER! Characters look extremely real and the city looks exactly like you'd see in any Hollywood gangster movie.
Each Character is enhanced by amazing vocal talent although the dialogue is filthy!! For this reason It is definitely not a game for the youngsters and even if you are of age, try not to play this game in the vicinity of your parents cos you would deserve a clout for exposing them to that kinda language.
In this game you take on the role of Luis Lopez (who looks a lot like Vis, poor thing!), who works for the title character Gay Tony who is one of the Richest Club owners in Liberty City. Of course there's loads of action, (check the parachute jump mission), dodgy dealings where you're forced to carry out secret and highly illegal missions, shoot and box people up, but lets face it that's why we love the game!!
There was a moment when Wretch was doing a mission where he decided to walk up to a guy with a machine gun and punch him out. ?! We strongly do not advise such behaviour in real life. Another reason this game rates highly is the soundtrack. In each car you can select a radio station that suits you and every kind of music fan is catered for although there is no 1xtra!! Unfortunately cos we all know there's nothing better than cruising in your car during a Rampage mix. Look out for top Hip-hop DJ Funkmaster flex who makes an appearance. This is no doubt a game that will eat up a whole heap of your time and hours. Ten minutes will easily turn into Ten hours and Ten hours into Ten days. You may even want to think about investing in adult nappies so you don't have to leave the comfort of your sofa or X-rocker if you're like me (showin' off). Overall its a sick game all REAL gamers (of age) Go get it!!
