Production boy Silver J reviews Pokemon Heart Gold

So this week, came out and we thought who better to get to review it then our very own Silver J. (If you listen to the show then you may hear Silva J helping out in the studio from time to time). He's a big Pokemon fan (he even cried when Ash died in the movie - exactly!!). Nuff said! Take it away Silver J....

Okay so my first thought, great the return of the Pocket Monsters. But then I thought wait, is there any real need to tamper with a classic? I was initially excited to play the game but I did worry that Heart Gold could just be a rinsed out sequel like or the latest

Having said that I gotta admit, once I picked up the game I couldn't put it down. I played it bed, annoyed people with the audio on the train, I even took it to the toilet. (Pause again! - Producer Woman).

The aim of the game, pretty much the same as Pokemon Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver and all the others, is to collect all the Pokemon, picking up the Gym Badges along you're way and eventually winning the Pokemon league. Got that ? Cool, question is though is it worth spending your hard earned doh on?

Overall, I enjoyed playing it but not because the graphics were hectic, the gameplay was heavy or because the audio was off the hook but because the game took me back to being a kid - the days of playing Pokemon Red on Gameboy Colour and trading and battling with your friends that had Pokemon Blue and getting excited over shiny Charizard cards.

My overall joystick rating is a 3/5 because it's a fun game and I enjoyed playing it but it's not the kind of game I would barge an old woman out of the way for. (And don't judge me cos I know you would push past her for the last copy of Fifa or Pro). _
