Talking Music
Tuesday night saw the first part of an exciting new four-part documentary series featuring the ´óÏó´«Ã½ SSO hitting the screens on ´óÏó´«Ã½ Two Scotland. The series, called Talking Music, looks at the work of the ´óÏó´«Ã½ SSO and gives an exclusive gander at what goes on behind the scenes at one of Britain's leading orchestras.
The series features interviews with the orchestra's team of leading conductors and players, composers who write for the ´óÏó´«Ã½ SSO, and soloists from the classical and pop music world who perform alongside the orchestra, including violinist and Stuart Murdoch of Belle and Sebastian and God Help the Girl fame. The series also includes lots of footage of the orchestra in action playing works from classical composers such as Sibelius, Elgar and Dvorak, alongside works by contemporary composers Sir Peter Maxwell Davies and James MacMillan, and includes some rather nifty pop music courtesy of God Help the Girl.
The first episode focuses on three of the orchestra's conductors: Superstar Chief Conductor , Principal guest conductor and , Conducting Fellow at the .

Episode two turns its attention to the players with Cellist Anthony Sayer, Trumpet player , and two of the orchestra's newest violinists, and Alice Rickards providing insight into what it's like be part of an orchestra. Check out the exclusive clip below for a sneaky-peek of episode 2:
