So, we already have many social networking sites for free on the net, yet the ´óÏó´«Ã½ want to use tax-payers money to try to compete with these. Why does the ´óÏó´«Ã½ feel the need to use its TV-tax money for this reason? If I was running the other sites I would be complaining about the unfair competition this creates. It seems to me the ´óÏó´«Ã½ is trying to diversify ready for a time (in the not too distant future we hope) that the regressive TV-tax is abolished.

I think that if the ´óÏó´«Ã½ were to get into social networking, then it may become on of the bigest social networing sites around.
But does the ´óÏó´«Ã½ have the forethought and inovitive culture that would be required to envision the full functionality required. I have been involved in the envisioning, architecture and development of networking sites before, and it may be easy to build a site it is another thing to capture the hearts if the users.

Strange blog. Links to two stories and let us think? I don't know what to think myself. Are these stories true or are you moking the truth in them?

Assuming they are true. My opinion is nothing wrong with closure if it spreads you out a bit. Change is often good in the end for most, if not unsettling at the start.

I thought it odd they made out the staff do not like working in a 60s building. I can see nothing wrong with that, it's a nice and well known building. Just bc it's made in the 60s does not mean it is falling down as was suggested! Maybe some won't like it, but you get that with all buildings.

As for all that cash for the social networking, I'll believe it when I see it!

PS. I just went to the trouble to register in order to read their website. I just filled in random data - they have not right to know that much about me! Plus it would taken me ages!
