Newswatch

Host Host | 12:29 UK time, Monday, 1 October 2007

In this week's Newswatch, the programme which discusses viewers' complaints about ´óÏó´«Ã½ TV News, home editor Mark Easton, defends a recent report that was criticised for making too much of a link between migrants and crime.

Also on the programme, Ben Rich, a deputy editor of daytime news, discussed why a story about a baby who was born with the help of a 999 operator was newsworthy.

Recently, on Saturday morning, there was a discussion regarding the poor English used by ´óÏó´«Ã½ journalists. The head of the ´óÏó´«Ã½ Journalism College said that the English was checked. Just i have just heard two solecisms on this monring's programme, one of which was on Newswatch itself. Pleas stop Mike Busheel usiong "bored of" and the Newswatch error "fed up of". The standard of English used by the ´óÏó´«Ã½ is sadly dropping. Please teach people proper grammar.
