Clapping, cheering, even the odd whoo-hooo and chuckle...have all accompanied the introduction for celebrities like Stephen Fry, Julie Walters, Sir David Attenborough, Jamie Oliver and most likely Helen Mirren, tonight. After all, they deserve it, don't they?

But who are these people in the background brought in, to warmly welcome some of the show's most esteemed guests? Truth is, it's largely The One Show crew and production staff...nowÌýthat's dedication for you.

The studio noise has also become a topic of debate, especially in The One Show production meetings...Did the crowd work last night? Did the laughter add something to the studio interview? Do we need an audience? They're all questions that might get asked.

So naturally, if it's had us talking, we thought we should put it out there and ask what you think.

Do you likeÌýthe audience cheers and clapping? Or would you rather it just went away? Isn't it nice to hear laughter in all the right places?
