Adebayor's started so well for Man City
Child's Play
My 3 and a half year old and I were listening to 5 Live Breakfast at 6 o clock this morning, and he said, "Mummy what's a microphone?"
Me: "It's what I speak into on the radio so people can hear me".
"Why?"
Me: "Because that's my job".
"What do you do in your job?"
Me: "Um...I...talk"
"And what else?"
If you can help me answer that one, I'd be very grateful...
I think you lure people into displaying some of their more honest emotions and beliefs often against their will. Which is the strength of radio as opposed to the ' time delay ' of recorded tv programmes.
I am certainly seduced into listening longer than i ought.
I think you are a listener as well, everyday you let other people just talk and then react to what they say, so in away you are also a counceller (sorry about the spelling). so tell him you also listen to peoples opinions as well.
You can tell him that you spend your time helping other people understand different problems. He will then want to know what sort of problems I suppose. Then it gets difficult - do you explain about drug running and AIDS or do you just say you spoke to the man who wants to be Mayor of London?
But you also talk to 'normal' people too, which is the major part for me of what your show is about - the opinions of all the regular working and middle class people all over the country. It really brings perspective to a lot of the problems.
Don't worry too much Victoria - I'm sure he's really proud of you
You do b' good blogging as well, so I am told.
P
ps. If I had known it was your birthday tomorrow I would have sent you a card.
I 'm with the toddler on this, still trying to figure out exactly what else it is that you do.
Hi Louisa
I like the "normal people" bit. You're right, loads of normal people do call in with their stories and experiences which for me is the best part of our show. In my family calling someone "normal" is a compliment..
My Mum: What what was he like?
Me/my sister/my bro: Totally normal.
My mum: That's good
So glad you made the Blog easier to find it was a nightmare. I just want to say, although a tad belatedly, how good it is to have you back, you make driving to work more interesting again, so you can tell him you are better than an ipod!
you entertain us Victoria and help us get through a dull morning in the office! But I doubt that will satisfy a 3 year old. what ever you say will be meaningless. what they really want to know is when are you going to play with them!
Well........................you are also, aggressive, blunt, typically female and an obvious annoying Bolton fan, oh and very talkative(as you are supposed to be)
Hi Patrick
Flattery will get you nowhere..
Love Victoria
