Despite reports last week that Lostprophets' Afan Lido gig on 1 March in Port Talbot will be going ahead, Neath Port Talbot council have today told ´óÏó´«Ã½ Wales that the concert is in doubt after anaysis of fire damage concluded that the majority of the facility will have to be demolished.

Steve Phillips, chief executive of Neath Port Talbot, said: "A structural assessment has been carried out on the Afan Lido complex by independent structural engineers.

"This has confirmed very severe damage has resulted from the fire to the building fabric and primary structure of the pool hall."

The council say that estate managers have recommended the band find an alternative venue.
