F is for filming

Chris Edwards Chris Edwards | 19:27 UK time, Monday, 5 May 2008

2.15am: Left my bed - AARRGGHH!

4.15am: In Cardiff - WORK!

First job - empty train to Swansea - good start

5.30am: Eat big - wake me up - breakfast - "The Big Boy" sausage / black pudding / 2 eggs / 2 bacon / beans / chips and milky coffee.

HEAVENLY : 0 )

We then worked the train back from Swansea before getting down to tv business.

9.04am: Leave Cardiff heading for Carmarthen with manager Martyn in the cab

9.07am: Push chair into emergency brake - NEVER DONE THIS BEFORE - everything comes to a grinding hault !

9.09am: Reset brake - back on our way

9.10am: Manager Martyn gets me a cup of coffee to calm me down

9.11am: Spill coffee down over some of the electrical switches - it's not going to be my day!

TV crew joined us at Swansea - filming seemed to go well - lots of looking out of windows - beautiful day.

Had a close call with the radio mic I was wearing as I met a friend in Carmarthen on the platform who uses the 'F' word like a certain Mr Ramsay! By the time I managed to tell him that I had a mic on - and 20 or so 'F's' in - he said "Oh!" and continued with 'F' word usage, still in Mr Ramsay territory. At least I tried - such is life! : 0)

12.00 noon: By the end of filming (when I had been up almost 10 hours), a still very full stomach was shouting - if not screaming - SLEEP!

2.30pm: Within 10 minutes of getting home I'm asleep, Boo (killer cat) curled up on my chest

As close as I got to Welsh nature all day :0)
