Turning heads in town

Julie Howatson-Broster Julie Howatson-Broster | 13:01 UK time, Saturday, 21 June 2008

Just popped to take my daughter to tap dancing lessons and then decided to go to town for a quick coffee with my sister-in-law Nicola. We like to catch up every Saturday morning and reflect on the past week and have an occasional moan. This week, we haven't! Every time we got into a conversation, someone would comment. "Is it you I'm seeing on the telly?" or "I've seen you on the advert!".

I was in town for 30 minutes and we must have had at least 20 people comment on the programme. How exciting is that? So many have said: "Oh my goodness, you and nature!" That says it all really. Let's just hope they all watch it and enjoy. Someone asked if I was getting nervous about appearing on television and to be honest I haven't even thought about it as yet as we're still busy filming for the final episodes.

Some people are beginning to talk to me who wouldn't usually, so that's really nice. I feel I'm quite a sociable person anyway and very rarely get miserable, so I'm hoping the increased attention won't affect my life in a negative way.

I also had the Daily Post newspaper placed under my nose and who was there staring back at me, but myself! That was a shock! A 3/4 page all about my experience on the programme. Thank goodness the pictures are quite presentable too!

I'm a little stressed today. Got so much going on in my business and personal life at the moment. Arrived back from Cardiff last night (Friday) and going back down to Cardiff on Sunday at 1.45pm - so not much spare time this weekend. The kids are busy with dancing lessons and parties and then I've offered to carry out beauty treatments at the local town hall on Sunday from 10am - 4pm for a Wellbeing day.

Unfortunately, I can only work 9.30am - 12.30 as I need to get back to catch the train, but my lovely therapists have offered to stay later (oh, what would I do without them!) So off I go now to unpack and wash clothes ready to re-pack for a week's filming.
