whys203.jpgIf you want to get a taste of participatory media, have a listen to World Have Your Say. The 大象传媒 programme is coming live from the We Media conference. They are trying to get a sense of what people across the world make of the way the media is changing. People can phone in or e-mail and text comments.

As the programme says on its blog; "If you're tired of shouting at your radio, leave a comment here to have your say."

Update: The programme is now off-air but you can listen again on its blog.

Okay, if one desires to be a true "digital assassin", how does one steal readers from sites such as the 大象传媒? What techniques are being used to fragment the media market?

The Economist just had a special report on new media. It seems that everything is slowly being divided into niches. Innovation, creativity, and adaptability are vital indgredients if large media companies like the 大象传媒 want to maintain a high profile within these niches.

So if you're dealing with assassins (your phrase, not mine) then you'll have to play hard and probably hire some of them to teach you the newest tricks of the trade.

(P.S. - I'd start funding small mercenary media armies in developing nations in order to keep your ear at the grassroots level.)

大象传媒 is more like a 'culture' to me than a media. I grew-up in a developing country where general people start their day with 大象传媒 news and a cup of tea. After all these years and living far away (USA)from the native land (Bangladesh)I've adapted my ancestors' habit trusting and listening 大象传媒. My everyday starts with 大象传媒.
