Got a question for Martin O'Neill?

glen_levy.gif BERLIN - The next subject of our popular Q&A sessions will be with ex-Celtic manager and 大象传媒 pundit, Martin O鈥橬eill. Please feel free to post your questions below.

I'm sure you will want to quiz him about the football, but if you鈥檙e interested in what films, literature and music Martin鈥檚 into, this is also your chance to find out!

As ever, the results will be seen on the World Cup Daily later in the week. We hope you鈥檙e enjoying the show as we feel it gives you the kind of behind the scenes access to the guys that would be more in keeping with the extras found on a DVD.

And just to mark your card, the Daily will be spending a couple of days with our 大象传媒 colleagues down in Munich this weekend. You鈥檒l see how the International Broadcast Centre operation works and, doubtlessly, be introduced to the people working there.

If Martin O'Neill had got the England job what tactics would he employ? Specifically, who would he play in midfield, and would he use a holding player?

Would Martin keep David Beckham in the team or would he utilise the pace of Lennon and use Gerrard/Cole/Lampard for set pieces?

Do you feel that Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard should/can play together in the England midfield or do you feel (like I do) that they have similar styles and that England would be better served by using only one of them with a holding midfielder like Hargreaves or Michael Carrick?

Do you agree that Sven's decision to only take 4 strikers is looking more foolhardy by the day?

What does Martin consider the best goal of the tournament so far? Does he favour the spectaculor long shots that most people seem to love (J Cole, Frings, Gerrard - all just swings of a boot in my opinion!), or does he prefer the aesthetic beauty of proper, team goals like Argentinas 2nd goal against the Serbs or the last goal from Spain in their 4-0 win against Ukraine, scored by Torres?

Dear Martin,

It's always a joy to hear your views on the 大象传媒 especially when you sometimes go against the grain sometimes i.e when you stand upto Alan Hansen.

On the bases of Owen Hargreaves display v Sweden where he had a good game especially in the first half, do you think he deserves to retain his spot in the side for the 2nd round on Sunday?

Hi Martin,

I was just wondering why you think that Emile Heskey's form has slowly slipped away from him since the heady days of playing for you at Leceister and qualifying for Europe.

He was a regular England starter but seems that all of that promise will not amount to a glittering career

Why does Frank Lampard shoot whenever he gets the ball about 30 yards out? and how many crosses to shot ratio does Englands left winger Joe Cole have? Do you think that England would be more beneficial if they dropped Lampard and played a holding midfielder like Carrick?

Hi Martin

I'd just like to let you know that Jessie Guillon will be 86 on 3rd July and the best possible present she could receive would be a quick call from you!!! (She has no idea I'm sending this.)

Actually she has an email address now which would be even better - please let me know if you would like it.

Thanks so much - you've been an absolute star in her life!

Regards
Cate Woodward

Hi Martin, regarding the criticism of Sven for taking only 4 strikers. It seems to me that if we had taken Defoe and Bent as well,we would still be short in the striking department. When you were in charge at Leicester,Emile Heskey was a real threat in the Premiership.I remember you saying on TV that he kept you in a job.His form must really have slipped if he has not been considered.I would like to hear your comments on this.Bye

Agree totally with the above. Sunderland would just be transformed with the combined team of you and Niall Quinn.
Of course here speaks a confused Football enthusiast. An Englishman, living in Wales, cheesed off you are not Mr Eriksson's successor, but think it would be great for football if you took over Sunderland.
Liked the William Goldman anecdote from his book you told yesterday. Trust you liked the chapter on 'The Verdict', which finally ended up as a Paul Newman / Sidney Lumet movie, after many different possibilities ...
