A group of nine students called CNC, aged 16 -17, from the Netherhall School and Sixth Form College have gone all out to help save the environment. Glass chopping board They are doing the Young Enterprise Project, which is open to all students in Sixth Form Colleges in the UK, Europe and other countries as far a field as New Zealand. The aim of CNC is to promote saving the environment whilst running a business as they feel large businesses don鈥檛 take environmental problems seriously. As part of Young Enterprise all participating students have to run a real functioning business selling shares, paying tax and keeping any profits that are made. Adam Scott, managing director of CNC talks more about the company aims: "We鈥檙e trying to promote saving the environment by hand-making environmentally-friendly glass ornaments made out of recycled glass. We have all put a lot of effort into making the products." Long Wong, company sales director and secretary explains what kind of products they make.听 "We make large vases, small vases, squashed vases and candle holders of all different types. But my personal favourite is our storage jars - which are some of our best sellers." CNC also makes seasonal items and other unique products. Recycled glass candle holder Adam Fraser, the teacher link in charge of Young Enterprise at Netherhall said:听 "We at Netherhall are all very proud of CNC鈥檚 commitment to the environment and the extraordinary work Adam and his team have put into the running of the company and the excellent products they produce."
