Trivia

Kitty movies: Xander says of Giles, "Faster pussycat! Kill! Kill!" - This was one of the all-time classic trashy B-movies made by Russ Meyer in 1965. Rumoured to be based on a greek myth, the plot consisted of three strippers who hit the road in their sports cars and crushed everything in their path, plus a wheelchair-bound old man. Not actually Theseus and the Minotaur then.

Latin isn’t dead: When Willow recites the spell to keep Angel out of the house she says "Hicce verbis consensus rescissus est" - which is Latin for "By these words permission is rescinded". Those of us who weren’t forced to study the dead language at school can translate it as "You can’t come in, mate".

Invited guests: When Cordelia says that she once let Angel into her car, this was most likely in Some Assembly Required. They left the school together after Cordelia found an arm in a skip.

Opera of death: La Boheme by Puccini is playing when Giles returns home. The words in the scene are full-on lovey-dovey stuff, not quite creating the mood for finding your true love dead in your bed.

The head can sing: Anthony Stewart Head provides the vocals to the music for the scene at Jenny’s grave.

Doggy dancing: Willow mentions A Charlie Brown Christmas. This was the first animated Peanuts feature and is shown annually on TV in the US. It also features the first mention of the Snoopy Dance - something we finally see Xander do in season five’s The Replacement. The dance involves throwing your head back, holding your arms stiffly at your sides and bopping away to your heart’s content. Altogether now...

Jew know what?: It’s been hinted at in previous episodes that Willow’s family is Jewish. Now she confirms it. (Like we couldn't have guessed with a surname like Rosenberg?) Her father is called Ira and is apparently very religious.

Slipped disk: Jenny's computer disk falls between two desks at the end of the episode. Don't think that will be the last you see of it.
