BACK AND BACK AND BACK TO THE FUTURE
By Babs Greyhosky
Directed by: Rowan Woods

REVIEW
Easily the best of the three so far, Back and Back and Back to the Future was too much a thriller to have great character development but it was exciting and fast and clever.

It is becoming a regular occurrence to have D'Argo shift loyalties away from the others - he did so upon wearing a drugged gauntlet in Throne for a Loss - but here it worked well. The time flash-forwards gave an excellent sense of doom to everything and, cleverly, the repeated sections managed to escalate the foreboding rather than becoming repetitive.

On paper everything about this episode makes it sound like the kind of cheap episode you get at the end of a season when the budget's run out. It's set entirely aboard Moya, there are only two guest cast and they've even saved on the alien makeup. For while there are two races here, the Ilanics and the Scorvions, the only Scorvion we actually see has been disguised to look like an Ilanic.

Yet in the hurry and pace of the episode, this doesn't feel cheap, it feels effective.
