Derbyshire wildlife Trust, the Derby City Pond Wardens Association, Wild Derby and 大象传媒 Derby have teamed together to bring you a guided pond walk. There are two opportunities to do the walk on Friday 5th June - the first is between 11 am and 12 noon; the second is between 6pm and 7pm. Trevor Taylor will lead the walk The walk starts at Derby Rugby Club's overflow car park, north of Haslam's Lane, off Alfreton Road. On this walk, you'll see what are said to be the best ponds in Derby at Derwent Valley Fisheries - and you'll see excellent views of the River Derwent on this short walk (approx 1 hour). The 大象传媒 is not responsible for the content of external websites Help playing audio/video Walk leader Trevor Taylor says: "The Derwent Valley Fishery Ponds are former gravel workings owned by the Earl of Harrington Angling Club within the Derwent river corridor. "The ponds support a large number of aquatic plant species and attract a wide range of birds, dragonflies and damselflies. It is one of very few sites in Derby where Swan Mussels continue to thrive." Places are limited on these walks. Please note that this walk is not suitable for wheelchair users. Under 18s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
