Who's
who? Mark,
Celeste and Arthur make up Zambra Mora.
Mark has played in numerous bands in a variety of locations
worldwide. He's been playing guitar since he was 15 but has only
recently turned his hand to playing Flamenco, taking lessons in
2001 with leading UK virtuoso Jon Salfield.

Arthur
beating out the rhythm |
Arthur
has played percussion since he was 11, with encouragement from his
father who had been a Drum Major in the Coldstream Guards. He lives
in Cornwall where he met Mark and is now turning into those African
rhythms.
Celeste is our Devon lass, although you wouldn't guess it
from her name. It's derived from her mother who was born in Madeira.
Celeste has received classical training for both vocals and the
guitar and lives in Crediton, where she likes to cycle - especially
to the pub!
What does Zambra Mora mean?
Gypsy (Moorish) Party - it was chosen by Mark.
It's quite different to other Devon Demos
we've had. Can you describe it in three words? Afro- Flamenco Fun!
What's
the story behind the track you've decided to let us hear, "Waggledance"?
Waggledance was written by Mark for our busking trip in France.
It was named after an exceptional beer we drank at The Double Locks
in Exeter!

What
do you think about the current music scene?
We're too old to care! We grumble at the youths who watch Top Of
The Pops.
What's been your most memorable gig?
Busking at Benodet. We earned six euros and were moved on by the
Gendarmes!
If
you could each invite a guest to dinner, who would it be? Arthur
- Robert Stigwood (Band Promoter!)
Mark - Kylie (do I need to explain?)
Celeste - John Grimshaw (Sustrans)
Complete
the sentence, "If we become famous...."
We'll give up the day jobs. Except Arthur of course, he's retired
already!
What are the highs and lows of living in
Devon?
Highs: Country pubs
Lows: Half day closing.
The future?
We hope to perform at festivals in the UK amd Europe, art centres
and any parties that sound good!
