Jules, Devon
Hi, Well done to Astra Dolphin for running the Sport Relief Mile in Birmingham at the weekend. Hope you raised a lot of money for a worthy cause.

James from Burn
Hi SiGGy. I'll contact you very shortly.... Kind Regards. James

James from Burn
Wow, Thanks Adam. It is such a pleasure to read such well thought out and constructive comments. I really hope we find someone soon. Again... If anybody knows anyone that can help.... Info@burnonfire.com. The best to you all. James from BURN.

SiGGy from Muffinfunk.com
Message to Burn...wow...something there big time!! In fact I'll record you guys for nothing. Let's chat.

adam exeter
It's a shame to hear when a good band lose a key member.Burn very much sound like Queen and after the loss of their frontman eventually they've replaced him with Paul Rodgers who in my opinion is a much better singer than Freddie but not such a showman. They are now mixing their sets with Free songs which has removed their manufactured, poppy , perfect sound to a certain degree.Burn should take note of that in their quest for a new line up as now's their chance to move away from the Queen clones tag. They are very good musicians and hopefully can sieze this opportunity to bring something new to the scene. Good luck lads.

Mark from Burn
Just to let everyone know that the news about Robin Myles (keyboard player and vocalist) is true. He has left Burn after many disagreements with the rest of the band. We are currently looking for a new front man/lead singer to record with over the summer and tour with us in the autumn. If you would like to get in contact with us, please e-mail info@burnonfire.com. Please note Burn will not be splitting up as we have many plans for future gigs and recording a new album.

Tom from Plymouth
Did anyone hear that Robin Myles left Burn? Can't say I'm surprised though, he did have a great voice, but sounded too much like Freddie Mercury and he didnt really look the part. Hope the rest of the band dont split up though, their rock songs were awesome!

liz bristol
in answer to james (taunton) , where are westcott and rodway, they are still in exeter and their next gig according to a poster I saw, is at pizza on the park, in knightsbridge London on the 24 th of august. So exeter talent has burst on to the london scene.

kyle davison

I would VERY VERY MUCH like to buy a CD or two of Zambra Mora's music as I've been creating a dance form combining latin, african, bellydance, and flamenco styles... and you are the soundtrack of my soul. Help?

Dave, Devon
I love whoz in the room with norman? i have followed the band for a while now and think there excellent. Kris is amazin, really blown away by his talents can be quite overwhelming at times because you just wouldnt belive the talent. I have watched them when they used to their own songs when the old bass player was in the band and i hold my hat off to them they pulled it off and Kris, well such confidence with his guitar and my god he can sure work his fingers around the fret board fast! Also great result with the south devon music awards, well earned! Kris you rock mate, dont give up keep on with your dream what ever it may be!

Steve from Newton Abbot
Rob Swann's interview with John Govier on the beeb was very interesting last Friday. He's a very talented young man with one of the best voices I've ever heard.Have just listened to it again and his songs get better and better.

sam, torquay
Nice one norman? cracking result on the music awards.

Scott from The Hub.

Good news Astra Dolphin & I listened to your track on the radio. Words can't describe the level of genius involved here. Or maybe it's all a psychosis! At any rate I am addicted.

Stu from Torquay
Hello to The Hub boys think your track on here is ace.I hear you have a bit of a tour coming up and have now changed your name to 'Parliament Rooks' Any truth in this.If so let us Know where your playing and I'll send some support your way. Cheers.

John,Torbay.
I would like to say a massive well done to witrw.norman? on their south west music award success! Well deserved!!! Awesome band, yes maybe just a covers band may of you say but a covers band with a amazin could be a world star guitarist if he wanted to. And good on ya Kris for telling these people who think they seem to know everything about you, the truth is out! You cant get better entertainment than going to a pub watching Kris and the others bang out some classic rock covers, watch some mega amazin shredding with some teeth playing thrown in there! Beats going to a club full of underage brats watching people get hammered then throw up everywhere. Not enough credit goes to Kris he has put up with a hell of a lot of critisim and more than the fair share of bull s**t from people who think they know him. Most of the time people are just envious. Well, i say nice one kris, well done on the awards and keep it up like you said you have a lot to be proud of!

Tom, Torquay.
Micheala, so much blable not enough facts. Have you seen who'z i the room with norman? Blatently not by your comments. Kris Barras the front man dude rockin guitarist is amazin! He would give Jimi Hendrix-(god rest his soul) a run for his money! Sort it out they have a massive fan base so are gonna get a lot of awards!

Toby, Tiverton
How's about 'Tuna Nova' instead of 'Astra Dolphin' - Only joking!

James,
The session with Lynsey Hooper on 'Pulse Rated radio' will be playing one of Astra Dolphin's tracks tomorrow night at 7.00pm. Listen in at www.pulserated.com and SKY channel 0155 in the UK.

Debra Paignton
Just listened to elevens demo , sounds cool , would like to hear more , any local gigs happening ?

Micheala, Exeter
Wow! So many awards for "Whoz In The Room With Norman". But how about 'Most Tedious Band In Devon', 'Dullest Band In Devon', 'The Only band In Devon According To Devon Demos In Devon'. Surely there must be other artists down here? Yeah I know. Astra Porpoise and Jodie Drones. And I know I had to mention them otherwise my post would never be put up by Herr Administrator, but back to my point, WITRWN aren't bad. Unfortunately they aren't good either. Scotland gets the Average White Band, we get the Average Devon Band. They're just a run of the mill pub cover band, nothing less and certainly nothing more. Yes it takes a certain amount of talent to copy other peoples work averagely, but not a lot. Don'get me wrong, I've got nothing against live karaoke, but there must be some genuine talent around here. I just hope the rumours are true and that this site has a seriously biased administrator with a penchant for the bland, but if that's untrue and this really is the best that Devon can offer. Than I'm off for a cream tea and to set light to a tar covered barrel. I know where I stand in the geographical talent stakes!

Rob Swann
For Damien, There's no effect on the guitar, the sound is achieved by playing in an open tuning eg CGCGCE or DGCGCD, you will notice that these 2 tunings have pairs or trios of strings that are the same note (but a different octave) when these are strummed or plucked (especially when left open) they can create an ambient/resonating/moroccan sound with the right chord shapes. At least I think that's why anyway! Cheers.

hi i thought jodie jones was simply enchanting she has a sensative and calming delivery with great feeling in her voice,on buzzy buzzy a new track there was a hint of the style of the arctick monkeys frontman with the lyrics. she seems to fit nicely into the current female market and will no dought go of like a rocket, her lyrics are simply pure heartfelt poetry much like many of the greats.wish i could buy the first album, but have no computer access.the great thing is her slow ballads are just as good as her upbeat songs and the lyrics are clear and crispy, very currently commercial.she has a wisp of the beautiful sinade occonner in looks and voice delivery and will sell well in america, with the irish

Damien Tripp
There is a track on Lemonrock by Rob Swann called One For Each Side which I find myself playing over and over . It is a very unusual sound from the guitar somehow . I play acoustic and I want to know how to get this sound .It is a live recording and the vocal has no effects on them so how is the sound achieved?

Moon Dog #1112
Kris Barras, Great Guitarist. In a Great Band, so why the moaning? not everyone wants to be the next washed up star, Yeah Kris You Got it Right, Its ur Life mate tell those who say other wise where to go.

John, Devon.
Mike, you certainly have a point there. Kris Barras from who'z in the room with norman is most probably one of the top talents of Torbay, with much potential. However has settled for the life of teaching and the usual covers giging. Its such a shame to see such talent go to waste! On the up anyone who hasnt yet seen his band do go he is a joy to watch!

Kris Barras
Hi mike Im afraid you are in no position to educate people about me or my band. I no longer have any interest in 'making it big' in the commercial music world ie. charts. This is because i no longer enjoy this type of music. However, to say i have no 'get up and go' is something quite absurd and i have furthered my career in music to a point where i am very proud of my achievements. I have released an instructional dvd thru a world famous website, write a page column for a national music mag, i am endorsed by a top guitar company, I am a lecturer in music at the Academy of Music and Sound, teach over 50 students privately a week and i am currently setting up my own guitar shop......not bad for a 20 yr old with no 'get up and go'. There was a time when all I wanted was to be a big, famous chart star. Those days are long gone and I am enjoying everything that i currently do in the music world. I still write plenty of music, however it is not in the commercial genre. we will continue to gig as a cover band and will continue to put 110% into every live performance. Many will say it's a waste.......but it is my life and i am very happy. Thank you all for the support over the years

Paul Smirnoff
I love this site, there is so much information to be found. Thank you.

Jess from Letchworth
Beautiful song from Charlie Deuchar. Write some more and lets hear them.

Mike
Sam and Lee, let me educate you on whoz in the room with norman? they'r a quality band and have the talent to go far. However will never do so because of Kris the front man. You see he is a mega talented guitarist and knows it but has no get-up-and-go!If he wanted fame and acknowlegement he would have done something about it now. Whoz in the room with norman have been found a few years now but Kris has never furthered his career in music as he is too money orientated. Which is a total waste of good talent and a great shame really. Although fame has it ups and has the money Kris just isnt willing to put in the effort and hard work to get there. I believe they have great potential but you have to go out and earn the recognition.

lucy
Hi, Lee totaly agree with you i got a copy of their albam too! I love the song 'come back to me' there a well good band, very easy listening and a joy to watch, the front man/guitarist likes to show his talents at gigs, fair play coz he is a quality guitar player wasted on pubs and bars really.

sam
i really like whoz in the room with norman? have seen them a few times now and it gets better and better. really enjoy there cover of jimi hendrix's red house quality guitar playing!

Lee

Caleb Jarvis
Bob Catley/ Oliver Wakeman. Jax Night Club, Ilfracombe, 19/05/06. It was fantastic, the best rock performance I'd heard for along time.

Joe, Exeter
Did anyone see Jodie Jones at Kino's at hotel barcelona on friday night? awesome stuff!

Rob Swann
No john, not giving it up, but I have been noticing that at some of the larger venues I play at, I really need a bigger sound/something other than an acoustic guitar! At the moment I'm just looking for a congo player and a celloist, so if you're one of these and you like my stuff, get in touch! Cheers.

john paignton
Rob Swann on myspace you say you're looking for band members. I hope this doesn't mean you are packing in solo gigging.

Adam, Exeter
Astra Dolphin will be playing in London this Friday - for more info on this event visit: www.myspace.com/astradolphin Thanks.

Steve - Plymouth
Mya Johnson: Good voice, easy to listen to especially with very sympathetic guitar playing. Lyrically good, rhythm a little repetitive. Expect to hear more from Mya as the years go by. Needs record company backing, and can do very well.

Juicy Cuts
Hello from Juicy Cuts. This is an Exeter-based fledgling label and it is looking for unsigned acts to expand its roster. It has so far put out a compilation and is looking to release another this year. If you are interested in getting your music heard totally for free then visit www.juicycuts.com.

Trimorphous
We are back with new vocalist and will be changing our profile soon. We are also on myspace. www.myspcae.com/trimorphous

Mike from Taunton
Burn- although you state your music as 'creative' and 'impressive' I thought it was cheesy and derivative. This type of over the top showcase will not change the face of music as you want to- it has been done too many times in the past and to a much better degree. Sorry, just my opinion but you reminded me of a Sixth form Queen covers band trying to emulate their idols but still with a lot to learn. I've heard a lot more original and talented things come out of Devon in the last couple of years. But hey keep plugging away!!
