Multi-instrumentalist
Dave Sanderson now performs under the name Flowerbed, a name he
conjured up while taking a bath! Originally from 'up north' he now
lives in Devon and is waiting to hear your thoughts on his demo...

What's
the history of Flowerbed? It's just me. I thought of the name when I was in the
bath. I started off with an ambient CD then a couple of EPs of songs
which later formed part of an album. It's called Songbook - and
there's a website too if you want to find out more.
What's the name
of the track you want us to listen to?
It's called Keepsakes. It's a song about sentimentality and the
benefit of hindsight.
And it's all yours...
I sing and play it all, yes.
You've moved from the
North East to sunnier climes here in Devon - what do you love about
the county? It's relaxing here. It's friendly enough too but I do
think there's too much traffic!
You've
a background in classical music, what do you think of the current
music scene? There's
never been so much good music as there is today, but you have to
go out and find it yourself. The music media is a shambles!

So
how would you describe your sound?
In three words? Acoustic, laid-back and melodic.
Whose records do you
have in your collection?
A fairly wide range really; Beatles, XTC, Dream Theatre, Stevie
Wonder, Steve Reich.
And if you could have
any three people as dinner guests, who would they be?
Billy Connolly - a great bloke.
John Lennon - another great bloke.
Marilyn Monroe - to play footsie with under the table!
You've already had a small taste of fame, writing jingles for Steve
Wright and getting a song in the lower reaches of the charts but
what would you do if you became famous now?
I wouldn't change a thing. Absolutely nothing.
