Damien from Torbay
I have listened to a few demos of bands I have seen live inc Pipeline, Zenn, Who'z in the room with Norman, and Too Hot. Seeing as Zenn and Norman seem to be the hot topic I would like to express my opinion. I think Norman's demo is better quality than Zenns but maybe thats because they have had more success than the more newborn Zenn. Liked both demos for different reasons but I must say that after hearing them both, the demo of Zenn does not do them justice as they are amazing to watch live so if you are intigued by their demo and comments then go and see one of their gigs. You may love them, you may hate them but then at least the torment will be over. Also Norman, good luck with the conquering of the world, I will probably be home listening to Zenn at home on my cd player though, as they win my vote, (is this an election? Or am I just getting caught up in the hype?)ps. Anyone seen the Worry Dolls? Their vocals are amazing. Get your demo on here.

Jack, from Cardif
wow, there sure is tension on the message board. The two rival bands Who'z In The Room With Norman and Zenn going head to head as if almost who can get the most positive comments! well as a complete outsider to both i have not herd of either i have listened to both and based on the demos i have decided that Who'z In The Room With Norman wins my vote by MILES. Have read other comments that people have said about Zenn saying they are a live band and the demo does not potray there true selves well why go on devon DEMOS? people come on this site to judge the demos and at the end of the day their demo is VERY weak! Who'z In The Room With Norman on the other hand give a tight demo, good band, catchy song, good vocals and harmonies and overall a song if released i would be far more likely to buy than Zenn's. For people like me who live no where near Devon bands like these two have to be judged on the demo they put across, so Zenn only have them selves to blame for putting across a very weak demo. On a positive credit to Who'z In The Room With Norman! You give a solid demo.... You'l go far. Thanks.

nat, manchester
hey!would just like to say thankyou to ZENN for a truley entertaining night last week. me and a group of mates were visiting a friend in torquay when we heard these guys-absolutly awesom, was totally mesmerised!!!!!!!cannot wait to catch you's in london...but, please, please, please come up to manchester- i know for a fact that you would be well recieved. keep up the good work guys, hope to see you soon.xx oh, and well done for the award- BEST LIVE CONTEMPERY MUSIC, 2005...says it all! xxx

Nat, Paignton
Really like the 'Who'z In The Room With Norman' demo very good drums. Liked this mello catchy tune overall a tight song. Would like to see you live do you have any gigs comming up?? P.s Best of luck in USA.

Jamie from barnstaple
Would just like to congratulate 'mike from torquay' on his kiss butt no1 fan to zenn award 2005! Zenn 2/10 for effort, you dont sound tight and the vocals,is that your normal voice Are you straining?!

Mike Torquay
Massive congratulations to Zenn for winning the ARTS BASE 'LIVE CONTEMPORY MUSIC' AWARD 2005. This is well deserved appreciation of a truely original songwriting band who have an amazing live act.

Chump (The Bert Miller Band - Drummer) Paignton
I have to say the music scene is definately improving in this area and to show this a "Music Fest" should be taken place, not just for the odd local bands it should be for all the up and coming local bands. This will then give them a chance to play in front of a half decent audience who will appreciate what they are doing. If this is taken into account then it is much appreciated from all local musicians and bands - I hope!

jaz, brixham
Zenn: Sounded so awful and the vocals very strained. Dont think acoustic songs are for you! It seems you have a few strong fans/followers by which OVER promote you and your gigs. Seems like they are trying to hard to make people like you, if people like you they will generally say so. Before any of you say come see us live i have! and it just wasnt my cuppa tea, ive seen far better bands and bands that are a tigher group and give more passion and will actually make it. On a positive note good luck everyone deservs a chance.

jack, Brixham
I would like to second 'Kev's' view about W.I.T.R.W. NORMAN. I also think its great that local bands from the Torbay area are making themselves know! Well done 'old chaps'.

lauren, exeter
'jamie' from barnstaple, here here!! i think there os nothing special about zenn either think people who are praising them must have bad ears coz if they here what i here and think that is great, then what is the world comming to. If the demo is what is making them sound bad and other material is better why put this demo on? Bands who can play amazing live gigs and pull it off on demo tracks aswell are the bands to look out for. My vote is with Fosta and Norman! Zen dont give up the day job.... PLEASE!!

John, Torquay
I think zenn sound really good. I like the singing and the song vey much. well done from me.

Mike Torquay
Just like to let everyone who hasn't visited the Zenn website - know that they are playing at The Wellhouse in Paignton on Thurs 7th April. Having seen a recent practise of theirs, I cannot recommend enough that people come and see for themselves the 'wall of sound' they create with their live act. I've seen first hand how dedicated this band are and how much they've progressed in such a short space of time. The demo song available on this site "I Remember It Well" doesn't represent this, so come along and judge them on their live performance. Look out for the song "I don't believe me" - its awesome from start to finish!

Jamie from barnstaple
Zen, seems to be the singer has a bit of a squealy voice, usual rock song really, cliche middle of the road stuff, its good to be beside the sea side, please stay there

Lez , Brixham
FOSTA:Love your sound its different, fresh, and love the vocals! One comment though the drums sound a little off. Over all loved the demo.

rosie, Torbay
I play the guitar, or i like to think i can play! Anyway a few weeks back i was in Appleby's in Torquay and saw a band setting up on stage, so i decided to see if they were any good. The band introduced themselves as 'WHO'Z IN THE ROOM WITH NORMAN' and the first of 2 great sets commenced. An hour in the pub soon turned to 3 as i was amazed and taken back by the talent of the lead guitarist 'kris'. I watched in ore as he played. His solos were excellent and the speed he moved his fingers. Then came playing behind his head which the bass player jay did aswell and then amazingly with his teeth, yes TEETH! As a young espiring rock chic after watching, it made me want to practise even more. Really think he can move people who are learning the guitar to give them that extra drive, not many good things come out of Torquay and i think its good for youngsters to see great local talent! Was told about this site, (didnt know about it, some good bands on here) so i had to share my comments with others who visit. 10/10 for the demo read it in other comments but it is very catchy If any members of WHO'Z IN THE ROOM WITH NORMAN are reading, do you have a web site with gig info on and other demos?? would luv to see you again. p.s will and jay you rock too! havn't forgotten you.

Kev, Torquay
Would just like to congratulate 'WHO'Z IN THE ROOM WITH NORMAN?' Its so great to read about LOCAL bands with raw talent making something of themselves, wish you all the best in America. Cant say i've herd of many local bands given the chance to tour America and record a albam over there! You must be doing something wright!.... Good demo by the way, catchy song, tight band love your sound!! EXCELLENT.

Sue & Gary : Bristol
Exceptional stuff ... If there is any justice left in this world you deserve to get and go just as far as your imagination can take you!

jac from up north
ZENN: Whilst down devon i went for a drink and there was a band playing i thought here we go usual crap in fact they blew me and everybody else in there away with there presence, energy but most of all the songs this band are worth seeing what an experience cant wait to see you at the top by the way demo is good but doesnt portray your how good and exciting you really are as this song is like a ballad compared to your other songs (though its still good and original it gives no concept of how brilliant you really are) If Zenn released an album i am sure that everyone who bought it would listen to every song and not skip any track "BRILLIANT"

colin from zenn
hello peoples i have read through the comments and i am really pleased with the feedback if you would like to here more of zenn checkout the website click on the link if you get the chance come see us live

Chris (drummer zenn)
Cheers to pete from brix its nice to get feed back with no bull glad you like the song though we will get a proper one on here asap so listen to that and let us know but come and see us in the mean time and you will get a better pic of what we are like

Ed from paignton
im not sure what to make of bow jenkins, nothing grabbed me at all. it sounds good but something is missing. maybe its the recording quality.

Amy, Plymouth
Pete from Brixham, i couldnt disagree with you more. I liked the zenn vocal. it's a demo in the purest form, brave of the band to put a 'home' demo on here and risky too. Says on their site it was basically a rehearsal demo. Look forward to the OFFICIAL single and get your asses to plymouth soon!

Marcia.Bath.
Just browing the site with some mates and have to say BOW JENKINS is awesome! We are in complete agrement with other comments made... really something massive and wicked lyrics, really want to se the girl gigging and releasing something maybe just voice and piano or guitar... she has that quality to her voice... love the whole deal really. Other bands are kicking too... it must be heaven in devon lately! But its a larf in Bath!

Jamie From ZENN
ZENN plymouth dates can be found on our website, aswell as more music. Look for the link. A live and unmixed demo is completly raw, so you get the picture with no crap really dont you? We are releasing a single soon so look out for that one. Hobres are pretty good.

pete
Whilst listening to a few of the demos i was delighted to come across a fresh, funky, tight, different band. Shout to 'NORMAN'! its so refreshing to here a good playing band with no weaknesses. I really enjoyed your demo, cant stop singing the tune its very catchy! On your site you said about doing an albam, do you have your own web site were fans of your work can listen to other songs? If not i strongly recommend you should, its another way for great unsigned bands like yourself to get more of your original material across.

Pete, Brixham.
Just listened to ZENN and im afaid its a thumbs down for me! Though the vocals were off and maybe strained, ive never seen you live so this is just what im getting from the demo. Ive herd tighter bands your not as tight but generally quite good. I had to listen to it a few times though to get a consistant opinion because the first time i listened i really didnt no what to make of it, in parts i thought you sounded good then others i turned the speakers down!

Lucy, Totnes
Hombres imposible rock! home boys doing well. incidently a saw the hombres with zenn a few times, also very good live. i did notice that the bands name has been spelt wrong, im sure zenn (as in the band) has a double 'n'???, hense zenn. well done hombres imposible, zenn, norman... all the other bands here (each band is hear for a reason).

Amy, Plymouth
This site is great! I didnt realise that there was so much talent out there. seeing the latest topic here i thought i would see for myself, or listen even. i havnt seen zenn or norman live but i did hear the demos. the norman song was a joy, nice and steady. then i heard the zenn song- is it really live & unmixed? quite a risky thing, bands letting the public hear demos in that form so i had my reservations- but was quite shocked. i found the song 'i remember it well' both moving and catchy. i thought 'boring' was a little harsh, on several hearings i noticed little progressions each time i heard it (its playing now). i found it relaxing and moving, above all though i could relate to the lyrics behind the raw and often beautiful vocal. good work zenn & good luck to norman too. any plymouth dates?

Chris (drummer zenn)
Hey guys\gals justwant to say thanksto all for cheking out our bit on this site we are working on some new stuff with even more clout at the moment and hope to have it ready for the 7th at the wellhouse so come see and let us know what you think all feed back greatfully taken in shout out to the norman boys.

William St Denis
WHY is everyone slating Norman'???? they are a QUALITY band! Ive seen them a few times when i have been in Torquay and they are wicked such a tight playing group.

leanne, Torbay
I think mike's comments to kris from w.i.t.r.w norman are so unfair, sounds like you have a personal problem with norman or is it beacuse norman are a better band. I've seen both norman and zen live and norman are by FAR the better band, hence touring in america in a couple of mounths so i read in the paper! Kris dont take notice of what mike is saying he clearly doesnt no what hes talking about, i doubt very much he has even seen you play coming from northamton and all! what a loser. good luck kris and the rest of the band keep doing what you do best dont let small minded folk like mike bring you down.xx

Chris (dummer Zenn)
to all i think it is important that every one remembers we are all performers at the end of the day and im not gona slag off norman for doing covers as it is a hard thing to do and takes a long time to learn i also say dont go by our demo we are a live band and it is hard to get the same feel in a studio but harrold see us live mate i know you will love it and that gose for all

Adam, Teignmouth
Jodie Jones-Really good stuff here. When are you playing live?

danny, paignton
zenn rock. i've seen them live a couple of time....think they could go far

Loz, Manc -Land
in complete agreement with holly- bow jenkins is wicked,so chilled out, and, well, i've voiced my opinion on the other, if the audience prefereS the covers to their original stuff then i guess the customers always right! zenn's sound is awesom, although to truely get your head around the hype you have to see these guys live, honest, pure and ORIGINAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ziggy teignmouth
I think Jodi Jones's sound is so pure and very relaxing!

Harold, Cornwall
I visited the site to find a huge support for who'z in the room with norman and zen. Being this the first time i have been on this particular part of the radio devon website i had no idea who these bands were, I have since listened to both of their demos to make my own opiion of both. I thought zen were a steady sound, quite simple with their sound maybe slightly boring as the song went on. But obviouslt this is one song and that i have herd from a computer. On the other hand after listening to who'z in the room with norman i immediately put it on again!, I instantly liked their sound. Thought the sound was very tight,(good drums)and an enjoyable lively track. Good luck to both.

Jamie from Barnstaple
I really do not see what all the hype is for zen....? Maybe they chose the wrong song to put on the demo, i dont no its just nothing special for me. If there is a website with other material on i would be more than open to listening.

J ,Manchester
Having seen that ZEN are now on the devon demos i was keen to listen to their demo after reading so many positive comments about then even before they were on the site. I was greatly disappointed with the demo. Nothing extra original or different jumped out at me, there was nothing wrong with the demo just nothing special in my opinion!

Mike Northampton
Would just like to urge anyone who can make it to get along to the Zenn gig on 7th April at the Wellhouse in Paignton. Anyone who has yet to see them should hear them live! it promises to be a great night. I particularly recommend their tracks "Feels So Good" and "Suicide Bomber" which can be heard on their website (there's a link from on this site) I'd also like to put a shout out to Pipeline -really like the song Falling Down, I saw you guys play last year.

Mike, Northampton
A few points for Kris from 'Norman' and any of their followers. You may be able to justify your sell-out principles to yourself by suggesting that you only pander to the venue's demands to earn money, but what does this say about your integrity. I suppose it largely depends on how important principles are to you. You have totally contradicted yourself by claiming that "There is NOTHING I would love more than being able to perform.. ORIGINAL music to a venue packed with people". Might I suggest the love of your paycheque at the end of yet another cover-ridden gig overrides this alleged love. I ask you - where do you draw the line? Is there anything you wouldn't slap a pound sign on. After all if you're prepared to compromise you're act(something that surely defines you and your band) then what remains sacred? A certain John Lennon lyric (appropriately enough) springs to mind: "you can't pull strings when your hands are tied".

Harri from Paignton
I've just read and listened to Devon Demos, and am proud to hear how great Zenn are doing. They're a great band and if you get the chance to see them live it's an experience you won't forget the atmosphere is amazing. Best of luck guys!!!

John, Exeter
A-men Russ, let the music talk. i have just heard the live unmixed demo you have on here at last, the song drew me in and put me somewhere i didnt know- great. look forward to hearing some of the 'proper' recordings. great voice, raw & honest. thumbs up for me.

Craig From London
I have just checked out a devon based rock band who i think should be signed if they still arent why not? The band is Instinct. I think your stuff is amazing. I really admire your music. Brilliant guitar playing and vocals. They really compliment one another. I recommend there music to everyone. Well depending on whether they like rock music. There's a link to their website Check it out. Im even doing my bit to help promote you guys. All the best for the future. Look forward to hearing alot more form you. Cheers Craig

Russ from ZENN
thanks to those who have posted suportive messages for our band and what we do. the current 'hot topic' is a sticky one. we play what we play because we want to, music to us is much more valuable than money. it all boils down to what you want and how you feel about music. we'd love to earn a living from playing originals, if we cant then we'll keep the day jobs untill we can. i've heard 'w.i.t.r.w.norman' and of course they are very good at what they do, it's just a very different direction to our band and that's fine. good luck to them-but we'll be keeping it original (not to say an odd cover might not pop up)because thats what we are about, and thats what we want to do. i'm not going to comment much more on this one, why don't we all just let the MUSIC do the talking? keep rocking

Kris form 'Norman?'
well it seems we are causing a bit of a stir!! so i will now attempt to clarify a few points: In the average gig of 22 songs we normally input 6 of our own, depending on venue. However, it is the VENUE which decides how many originals we play NOT the audience- and as the venue is paying us very good money to perform, they have the right to make that decision. The majority of people who go to pubs etc want to be able to sing along to the tunes of their childhoods. There is NOTHING I would love more than being able to perform two sets of ORIGINAL music to a venue packed with people. HOWEVER, i need to make a LIVING!!!!!! and we do covers to pay the bills!!! Is there any harm in that??? My life is music and performing. If the only way, at this stage, i can perform four nights a week is to play covers then that is what i will do. At the end of the day, I JUST WANNA PLAY MY GUITAR!!!! It is a shame that there aren't many venues that allow all originals, but that's just the way it is. Princess- I apologise if i seemed a bit offish when u spoke to me. I normally spend ages chattin to whoever bout whatever, i can only presume that u caught me on a bad day. and Finally..... EVERYONE is entitled to their own opinion, and we can't please everybody all the time!!!!

holly, dartmouth
just listened to bow jenkins- very cool, young yet raw talent that has the potential to truley bloom!look forward to hearing more. also, listened to "who's in the room with norman" with great expectations and have to say i was slightly dissapointed, lyrics seemed some what immature...slightly pradictable. the structure was basic/weak and melodie could be stronger. plus points, simple yet sucesfull harmonies. are these guys truly english? because that american accent from lead is so convincing.

Natalie, Salford
Just visited Torquay with a friend who is a local down there. Was blown away by a band named ZENN, these guys were/are amazing. Not heard such origianality in a long time. They are well worth checking out!!!

Loz, Manchester
well, ed you certainly seem like "who'z in the room with normans" no.1 fan, but,it appears that your comments lack justification, yes, we all know you like them, but why? what is it that's so "oringinal" and distinctive about their sound (their own sound that is)? i have no problem with this band, i actually quite enjoy listening to them when im sat outside appleby's, they act as great backgroud music, but, im affraid to me thats all they work as, background music! ed, if their own music is as fantastic and refreshing as you say, why is it that they cannot satisfy their audience with a whole set of it?or at least more that a few original songs "slipped in" here and there. please dont get me wrong, i think that cover bands play an important role in the live music scene of the bay, e.g.for tourist, the whole family love to hear familiar songs that they can sing along to. Cover gigs are the sort that you can go to and not have to think too much about what your hearing- because you've heard it all before, you don't have to listen to the lyrics- because you know them, you can just sit their, tap your foot contently and carry on with your conversations. and i truely think that these guys fit this niche perfectly, i just cant see them gaining a great deal of respect out of this 'cover catorgy' for replicating other peoples hard work, and talent even if it is "funked up" i must also ask, how can a performance be filled with passion when the majority of the set wasn't wrote by those in question, how can you feel passion for say, a song about a person you don't even know, or thoughts/issues on situations you've never experienced? and finaly the lead surely cant be that "confident" if he doesn't even have enough faith in his bands songs to play them with pride, instead of having to "slip them" between other artists work.

a Princess from Paignton
Well Edward from Torbay, I didn't mean to offend you about my preference of men, I was merely making a comment which highlights my opinion of their image. I have spoken to the frontman and when I tried to talk to him he acted as if he was too busy and important to talk to him. I was going to comment on his performance but I guess I have now made my opinion clear. You mentioned steriotyping in your last contribution of comments but don't you think that you/Norman are steriotyping on what the 'people' want. As, beleive it or not I am a person, and personally I think they should play a sole original gig maybe ending on a good old favourite cover. Maybe if the frontman would talk to his audience in breaks he would actually know what the 'people' want. Also I didn't say that an artist's appearance would hinder their talent did I??? Unfortunately image is a big factor of show business and I apologise greatly for judging them in appearance and musically, next time I will mould my opinion around yours. If you like original music and a varied appearance come and see Zenn on 7th April at the Well House, Paignton. I will be there so maybe we can compare notes. Lots of love x

Mary from Tyne and Wear
So the debate is Who'z in the room with norman? then. I think both David and Ed have made good points. I have just listened to norman's demo and i think its great if all of their original material sounds like that they definitively should play more at their gigs and slowly drop the covers. It is hard on the other hand if your fan base does enjoy the covers and from the positive comments about norman across the message board it sounds like what they are doing already is proving a winner. However i do think that people like David for example need to give more helping critisism than negative comments, although a little negativity doesnt hurt.

David, Brixham
Ed, You seem almost over opinionated. Ive seen original bands such as Robolint and Zenn carry off whole gigs on their own without playing covers. Although good musicians, 'NORMAN' AND 'DADDY MANGO' should be exiled to "cover band island". What a bore. E.G, The only band who should play Chili's songs, is the chili's. Case closed.

Ed from Torbay.
This is injuction with 'princess' about the comments on 'norman'. I think your comments are very unfair and you are being very stereotypical. The front man obviously takes care of his appearence (is this wrong?) but as we live in a society which is becomming more open to people and the way they look i dont think this comment is fair. The stereotypical rocker, long hair, rustic etc...he does not resemble this which does not mean he is any less of a talented musician.(don't we need a new fresh sound/look out there to give the message to young kids that anyone can make it with the right determination) However we do agree on one thing, yes this guy can play there is absolutly no dount about that! You also said (quote " is his own no1 fan") well... you sure are good at judging a book by its cover, i think you are confusing this with is something called CONFIDENCE! As for being a take off of 'daddy mango' no question 'daddy mango' are a tight band but please do not compare two different styles and sounds! 'Norman are in a league of their own which shows by their sucess in the local Devon pubs and of corse in America, and the fact that i they are going back proves what a hit they truly are! Of corse you entilted to your own opinion i do not begrudge you that but in this particular case i feel it is somewhat sketchy. Come see 'norman' again but this time not to compare or judge but to indulge in their amazing quality for such young and inspiring musicians.

Minky. London.
Bow Jenkins. I love her songs, the texture of her voice, the depth of her lyrics... meaningful and important without misery! I could listen all day! A real find!!!!

a Princess from Paignton
This is injunction with Ed and Jamie's comments. I have seen both "Norman" and "Zenn" play. I heard great things about "Norman" but was unfortunately dissappointed by them as they semmed like a shadow of "Daddy Mango" which were Devon's best band of 2003 where "Norman" competed. I was told that the frontman was cute, but yet again dissapointed to find a pretty boy who is his own no.1 fan, or so it seems, but saying that a talented guitarist. Their own music is drowned with a good choice of covers and I'm sure "Normans" fans will be glad of some devon grown music. As for Zenn: tight, energetic, and good lookin long haired guitarist they just need a little more publicity.

Andy, London
i've recently been travelling, have seen many bands and obviously being from the big city have had the oppitunity to hear a a great deal of original talent. so, when i was down in the small sea-side town of paignton visiting family and was asked if i wanted to go and see a local original band, i wasn't expecting anything much but thought why not? soon enough these proconceptions were crushed. when entering the beach club on paignton seafront i was absolutly blown away!the band playing were ZENN,who i believe to be a local band of the bay- to this day i still cant understand that, and im sure soon enough they will no longer be seen as just a local band.i must say that i hate to appear like a 'suck up' but the atmosphere of this gig was absolutly eletric, ZENN managed this with a set of purely original songs-which is so refreshing to hear. this guys are awesom, if you appriciant decent original melodic rock, with lyrics that will get you thinking and stick in your mind long after the guys have packed up ZENN are a must see. i will be taking up the offer of my aunts sea-side breaks more often now in hope to catch these guys again. please keep giging guys, if ZENN are an example of whats to come in the future of music i believe there's a lot to become excited about. any one knowing any more info on ZENN, e.g. website address please please please let me know. many thanks.

Hi Andy, Zenn will be appearing on this website very soon. - John (Host)

Ed from Torbay.
This is injunction with the comment by 'jamie' about 'norman?' Have you ever seen this band live because you have no clue what your talking about! Anyone who has witnessed a 'norman' gig will tell you that their performances are no short of passion, energy and originality! As for the comment about them playing their own material they DO!... but obviously cannot play a whole gig of their own songs, as that is not what the 'people' want, and the covers which they play are hardly boring but are funked up into a style of their own!....

Maz From Dartmouth
who'z in the room with norman? you rock!....... best of luck!

Jamie from torquay
Who'z in the room with norman? Do they play their own music?! please. give me something with passion and energy and original anyday of the week, month or year.

Hi Jamie. All the bands on this site HAVE to demo original songs.
Have a read of their and you'll see that the lads are very much into performing their own music.
Cheers
John - Host

Mary From Torbay

Bow Jenkins is my vote. A voice and lyrics that can carry it off.. moving and thoughtful and thought provoking. The other bands on this site are really good too, and it shows how many gifted people there are out there. Although for my money Bow Jenkins has the edge... I like her style... havign said that, I think a gig with all 3 demo'd artists and bands would definately be a sell out! I have to say that the quality of the musicians on Bows album are awesome too... the piano and guitars and drums... you really have to hear it to get the full measure of this work!

Jimmie, Bath
That's Bow Jenkins... unsigned but definately talented and indeed special... and young... thank God for talented, dedicated and hard working youth! In an age when we take sooo much flack, it's good to have kids making such giant efforts!!!

I'm in a local band and have had the fortune of seeing (WITRW)Norman before and I have to say I was impressed. Someone on here has said The singer hasnt got the best voice, I tell you what if you listen to them live then you'll see he's actually really good, as indeed are the rest. I hope they do well, the local scene needs a boost and there are some good bands out there (including the one i'm in (head swelling)). I'll get our band on here soon.

Jay
and theres an N in talent aswell.

Bow is the female singing and songwriting sensation of our generation!!! I just checked out the site for the first time this year... have to say its good to see it running and fresh... and good to see Bow Jenkins makes an appearance. She has all the talent and power I need from a singer/songwriter and I think she really is in the Joplin class... especially given her youth! But I think her talent transcends her youth... very much someone who will move a lot of people... the choice of song to demo is good, but I think you have to hear her others to get a real grasp of just how good she is! I'm in devon from September at Exeter Uni (I hope!), and I think if she hasn't gigged there yet, we should try to make it happen. I know from all I hear that she's really new on the scene (let's face, it at 15 you'd have to be!)so we should get behind her. This is a chance to make sure something great happens around someone real for once!

Joe, Tyne and Wear
Just listened to 'Always be There' by your man Tom Kerswill and was really moved by it. This guy has a lovely innocence to his lyrics, something that I hope the biz dosen't drum out of him. I wish I could write a song so childishly uplifting. This is a REAl lovesong!

plaything, plaything central

linsey exeter
there is no debate about adam westcott as this guy is poor, the guitar is different and his voice merly average!.......and that is putting it lightly. i honestly DO NOT see the facination with this guy! also a comment made earlier about the song being recorded 2 year ago, well put an up to date demo on so people can judge you on your voice now, you may well of changed and adapted, but if you have not improved then i hate to be so negative but i will dont bother!!

jamie from bristol

janet, bristol
i desided to read the message board to find out who where most popular.(bow jenkins/adam westcott/and who'z in the room with norman?)i then listened to them and would like to say personally i think the next big tallent to make it from devon will be WHO'Z IN THE ROOM WITH NORMAN? ,ok the lead singer has not got the best voice in the world but he can sing in TUNE! and he has a EDGE to his voice which atracted me the band sound great to. from reading your page too it sounds like you put your heart and soul into music and i would definately be interested in hearing some other demos. website?

William. Plymouth
Ive just listend to adam westcott expecting great things after reading some of the review's on this page and I must say what a dissapointing expeariance, sorry to be negative but the voice is weak and flat (my opinion). Who's in the room is a smashing sound AND a great band as ARE Instinct, BUT if you want a GOOD Sound AND a Tight Band Then FOSTA gets my vote the drummer is great and the guitar work is brilliant and there performance on the Hoe was AWSOME AND A TREAT TO WATCH, We should see more of these guys. Where are the Agents in the west crountry looking for new Talent not here thats for sure. These guys are not known to me or related, my opinion of this band is from what I have heard and seen on The Hoe and the demo on this site. I VOTE FOSTA.

lee... london
Gorgeous Bow Jenkins with the hot and massive voice. I am really impressed with her voice, and her songs... the lyrics really are poetry, her voice really is a throw back to a time when a singer could stop you in your tracks with the power and the emotion... and the subtelty too... you have to listen to her other songs on her website or listen to her cd to get the real picture... and there is humour there too. She really is very accomplished and very aware and she is a 15 year old! I get to see a lot of singers on the circuit, and I seriously doubt if there is a better prospect anywhere!

Jimmie, Exeter
Bow Jenkins. If she doesn't go all the way to the top in the music world, there is no justice! Her songs are beautiful and haunting, and when they are supposed to rock, they really rock, and when they are supposed to move you, they move you... a top draw talent, and another big thing for Devon! These devon bands are something very special, and it is really good the local scene and this website supports them.. And Bow is number one in my book.

james, torquay
Dj Paul. i think this guy should give up. i thought he was rubbish. the music didnt flow, there was no build up like most dance tracks and he has used just a basic backing. i could create a better sound using the keyboads at school and i dont even play! sorry mate i think you should just give it up.

John, Torquay
'Who'z in the room with norman?' 10/10 what an excellent band and a great potential for the future. saw these guys at a pub in Torquay and they really put on a show grasping everyone with all of there individual tallent. The lead guitarest effortlessly plays mind blowing solos, and with his TEETH!! this guy will make it big even if his band do not. had a great night watching a great new tallent which i hope will make it massive! anyone in Torquay come see this band they will blow you away! best of luck guys.

katie, Paignton
FOSTA!!! They are so cool i really like there sound and would most deffinately by there record if it was out.You remind me of another local band which have made it massive winning a Brit award only just the other and that is Muse. I can imagen you on tv, best of luck!xx

wendy, Newton Abbott
I think Bow Jenkins is amazin for her age and the ability to write and produce songs at such an age is great, however i do not feel she has that edge to take it a step further, but good luck.

Thomas, Teignmouth
Adam Westcott- vioce 2/10 guitar 7/10. He sounds like he is straining his voice. the guitar is very different but im not sure if that kind is diversity is what the British public would go for. Good luck in all you do though.

Amy, Exeter.
I've listened to quite a few of the unsigned bands and there is some real tallent, BUT there was one which really stood out to me overall. Firstly it was there name of the band which got me interested then when I read their page and listened to the demo, which is very catchy I thought they were great and the band was 'who'z in the room with norman?'It sounds like they are really going somewhere but I cannot seem to work out why they are still unsigned!! If anyone knows of a website they have I would be interested to find out more about them and if they have any gigs coming up. Hope you make it big.x

Toby Smyth, Brixham
i saw'who'z in the room with norman?'at the spinning wheel and they ROCK!!!! the lead guitarest is amazing keep rocking thoes solos!your going to make it BIG! good luck for the future.

Bibby from instinct
Hi ian, really glad you liked the demo, just an up date on the girls aloud gig. Yes where going to be playing with them, all booked and everything, but the woman who is the manager of the building it was due to be held in cancelled!! Not just on us, but on all the acks that where ment to playing there for the next 3 months. I have just about stopped crying myself to sleep, although the odd nightmare still happens!! i still belive that nadine wants me and maybe, one day, i will get to play on stage with her!!

Ian (I luv Genesis) - Leeds
Previous comment; Oops missed the name of the band - re:INSTINCT - great Demo - good harmony, loved the accoustic guitar riffs - loved the song 1st time - these guys have got something here.....understand supporting Girls Aloud - gotta start somewhere...what a start

Annie, Ashburton
I love Bow, and if she isn't a top star soon, with a proper deal and everything, there's no justice at all... she is really special... I love what others have said about her and I thought I'd add my own thoughts... great music and great songs and a greater than anything I've heard before voice!!!

ronnie, exeter
I think Bow Jenkins is a talent to watch... inspired and inspiring!

Natalia, London
Adam Westcott- Enjoyed this song, captervated by the guitar. Like his voice too. I hear many different bands in London, but nothing like this. I can imagine that watching him live would be great. He will soon be creating a stir with A&R men. Good luck!
