'Bow' is V.cool,even more so considering her age! 'Jodie' i also love; listened to her on bbc devon radio and would love to hear her voice on every radio station. A much wider audience is needed and should be herd. At heart im a bit of a rocker though and was one of the many fortunate ones to catch 'who'z in the room with norman?' at the spinning wheel a few weeks back. They were fantastic, blew me a way. Havnt herd a band like that in the bay for a while! Kris/front man totally rocked, awesome vocals and even better guitar playing/fast fingers dude!!! Like the new entry to devon demos 'stephenson's rocket' they have some great potential.

I totally agree with Nate, Bow is certainly a very special young talent. Her vioce is so soulful that I thought she had to be a middle aged black woman! That alone has gotta put her in a league of her own! I am very impressed by Bow indeed...I also really like Jodie Jones's stuff, it's very soft and sweet... has she got a record deal to be able to be playing and giving interviews on radio devon?

Stephensons Rocket are absoloutley brilliant! The songwriting and raw energy of this remarkable band is what music is all about.This band is so real..and they are a incredible live band too.and have a very unique chemistry that I have heard in bands like The Beatles, Muse, Radiohead and The Chilli Peppers.. I would say this band has a stroke of genius.. Good Luck to them and hope they get signed very very soon:):)We need more music like this...

Can I just say that Bow Jenkins has got to be the most talented 15 year old in a very very very long while!!! I just checked her out and her voice gave me goosebumps (in that good way!) Her demo doesn't do her justice though... Her better songs are on her site. I highly reccommend this young superstar already made and yet to be discovered! Plus she's beautiful! Definately one to watch...

Jodie Jones- listened to her interview on Radio Devon today 18th May, 2005 what a sensible young lady - am in my sixties and thought her music and voice were refreshing - will definately by her album All Dressed Up - looks to me like she will go a long way - I love the originality of the songs

"WHO'Z IN THE ROOM WITH NORMAN?" are ace! Each time i hear them they get better and better. I remember hearing a very sketchy performance from them whem they just started, but now, cant believe how much they have improved especially lead guitarist, his voice and guitar plying are so much sharper. Since the new drummer and bass player joined they have really made the whole package so much better than the ones which left the band. You have everything you need and there is no shortage of ambition and passion so you just need someone to sign you and i really hope you get it and follow your dreams. I think Stephensons Rocket have by far the best demo here. Seen there live set a couple of times most recently at Bar 1 in Paignton and there even better live. From what I've heard there new material is even better than Revolution. All the best in L.A. Rock On.

'Loz' fair comment,didnt think it was fair if you hadnt seen "norman?" at all and was makin the comments you did, and yeh "norman?'s sound isnt for everyone and in relation to 'Jim,Tiverton' I know a few people, friends of mine who have posted comments about "norman?" and like myself do not know the band members personally, so i think your theory is incorrect. "Norman?" are a quality band and they perform great, they are a band to see live!Have you seen them yourself? Why slate a band if they are getting a lot of positive comments? Fair enough their sound wont please all, but to slate the fact they have recieved good messages is a bit odd to me!?and if you havent seen them even more odd! I dont like one of the acts on this site their sound is really not for me, they have had some really positive comments left about them but that doesnt make me dislike them more! "Norman?" you ROCK!Dont give up i still love ya! :-) P.S Hope you go down a storm in America!

Thanks for the positive feedback to the Stephensons Rocket demo. The band really appreciate it, and we will have some live dates soon as we have just finished a new set. This has been prepared for a trip to LA in July. 3 new tracks have been recorded and I will check back later with details of where and when you can locate them. Stephenson's Rocket are the best band on here.Original, talented and BRILLIANT. As far as I can see Who'z in the room etc etc are very weak and lads, we can all see that it's all you and your mum/auntie/kid brother all posting in the relentless messages about how apparently great you are. Sorry but I don't like your sound and seeing all these posts just reinforces that. Not saying you are bad or anything, just ordinary and average. Certainly nothing to inspire these endless stream of comments about how brilliant you are from supposed fans.

just a quick reply to peaches, the site asks you to state name and location, location means where you are located at the time you are submitting a post, im from torquay, but discovered that devon has a boarder and guess what you can cross it, i just study in manchester, so, in response, yes, i have heard witrwn on a few occasions, and actually dont mind that, however i dont think that they are as exceptional as others seem to- this is just my opinion, which im quite intitilled to, not everyone is going to love them as much as you and i think that the fans should learn to except this as opposed to getting so defensive. you seemed to dislike my referrence to them being a cover band, sorry, but to me a band whos set predomantly consists of cover songs is a cover band, i thought that was just common sense. again, apologies for any offence caused- i'll call them "a band that plays some originals....but, mostly covers" in future, is that ok by you guys.

Also went to the 'Who'z in the room with norman?' gig friday night. Such a great gig yet again really can't fault the 'norman?' lads they are TIGHT! Front man workin the crowd again, even decided to play outside! Was also cool to see people who hadnt come to watch them come up to the end they were playin as if they were drawn in with their funky unique sound! Wicked gig, Great night! The "norman?" gig last friday at Mojo's rocked! only made the second set was gutted but what a show anyway, was amazin! Such quality musicians, and the song the bass player sang was great! The new originals played by "norman?" friday night were wicked! Found my self humming the tune to one the next day with out realising, there very catchy. They really need a site to showcase these talents people see them as this same old cover band but there far from that and have a lot more to offer!I mean nearly half of there set list is originals.Was a great gig well performed, band was so tight! Before I delve into the "norman?" gig last night I would just like to say what a sound band "stephenson's rocket" are love the demo! Right, went to Mojo's last night to see the much talked about "who'z in the room with norman?" and yeh they performed a great one! I've seen them a couple of times before and they all seem to improve with each gig they perform. The drums sounded better last night not that I could fault him before and the guitar was equally as wicked!, but the bass for me just keeps on getting better and better. He seemed a bit more confident last night,it was great and 'superstitious' the song he sang was the best of the night for me! They are sure set to make it big(I hope), there would be no justice if they didnt. The quality of the band and everyone plays with so much passion for the music! I wish them all the best for their tour in America, show em what the 'Brits' are made of!! And also best of luck to everyone else on Devon demos!

I just listened to 'pipeline' Quite like them their song is very catchy the more i hear it, can hear a slight influence of oasis. Hi everyone! :-) would just like to say to 'Loz in Manchester' that 'NORMAN?' are not just ya same old cover band! They do actually put LOADS of great originals and are currently finishing a albam consisting of nothing but great originals! If you are from Manchester like you say have you actually seen them? If not i feel you are wrong to comment on a band that you may have souly herd from the demo, which is an original by the way! Just to comment on some other issues raised on the board, i think its good that acts on this site get a little negative comment hear and there as well as good comments because it keeps them grounded and not everyone will like an act, I do have much respect for anyone who can sing, write music and play it; as a music lover i thank god for these talented people. Hi all, thought it about time I added some more bands to this site so I'm currently working on four new demos for you. Hopefully they'll be live before the end of the week.
I also wanted to address a couple of the recent comments we've received, some published and some not!
Firstly we try to let this message board be 'self-policing' as much as possible... but we're not going to withold comments about an act just because the artist may not like them - anyone who's going to put themselves on a worldwide stage has to be big enough to accept brickbats as well as bouquets. However, we are not going to publish rude or libelous comments. Equally, it's no good moaning that all the comments are about a particular act... if that's the weight of the mailbag then that's what we will represent. It's up to our users to redress the balance. Hopefully the new bands that will be going live shortly will bring some new discussion to the board.
I'm just pleased that this section is so lively - and that it's doing its bit, however small, to raise awareness of some of the amazing talent we have here in Devon. :-)

in total agreement with Ivor, it's getting so boring. i used to really like this site, visit it quite frequently, but i, like many others, just dont bother much any more, it's really very sweet of you guys, but SOOOOOOOO tedious. this board being used as a witrwn guest book, do these guys not have a website you could use?if not, can i personnally ask if it's possible for them to get one for the sake of those who's interests go beyond this exceptionally average cover band. thanks. 'Ivor' why begrudge a band of their success and popularity!? I like 'NORMAN?' but my heart lies with 'Jodie Jones' but i do not have anything against 'NORMAN?' for being popular. Yes they dominate the message board and yes i would love to see that much support for 'Jodie Jones' but i do not hate 'NORMAN?' for that. Just proves that they are doing something right, else they would not be as popular. Im sure if there was support like that for another artist/band it would be put on the message board too! What i cannot see is how 'NORMAN?' are stopping others from shining!They'r not! People like them so they leave a message simple, now if that happens to be the majority then so be it, that is through no fault of their own! Also i dont think ANY devon demo band or act sees this site as the be-all and end-all but you never know who may be browsing on these sites looking for fresh new talent! It annoys me when people put such negative, sometimes even rude comments on this site. In response to Carol from Preston's remark about Astra Dolphin, it takes a lot of guts to put your music out to the public and I bet you wouldn't have the guts to do this, and probably not even the talent, so I don't think you have the right to put such a harsh remark. You should be encouraging people and giving positive comments, so next time, broaden your outlook before you are so negative. I think that anyone who has the guts to follow their dreams deserves praise and even though different types of music obviously don't appeal to everyone, negative comments aren't the way to help someone follow their dreams.

Music angel; you write very articulately on the need for P.R and mentoring but I think you are wrong This country has been streets in front of the USA for years and years musically. Bands like The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, Radiohead and Muse etc. have all achieved top status due to their talent not their P.R or mentoring. We are not very good at P.R we have learned therefore only to recognise pure talent. At the other end of the scale are manufactured bands and they don't last very long at all. We don't need mentoring we just need to keep working hard and if we are good enough then maybe it will happen. By the way the very best of luck W.I.T.W. Norman with your tour of USA. (oops!) come back with a huge record deal!!

I checked out the zenn demo when it was first on hear and really didnt like it but at the biker festival i thought il pop along and hear some other material as you cant really judge a band on one song. Having herd some of their other material the demo song i dont like sounds a lot better than the rest of their stuff. The drums are so boring, their was no diversity in their songs and the lead singer just shouted most on the songs, some people may dig that but i cant see why? and the very few that were watching seemed to get the same impression too. The comments i over herd were not good to put it politely! Best of luck to zenn and of corse the other demo acts. Thanks.

i had herd such good things about zenn, but i really dont what happened at the bike festival they were really not very good. if that is what they sound like normally dont see what the fuss is!

Great come back from 'terri' you said it how it REALLY is! The witrw-norman demo is great love the bass, and that bass sounds even better live. Also lovin Jodie Jones what a fressh young talent we have there! Great future set up for both, i hope! Keep it up!

When i last visited this site there was a debate on 'zenn', thumbs up/down! Their fans and the band members themselves urged people they were a band to see live. I hadnt yet had the chance so whilst at the bike festival in paignton i thought i would give em a listen. The verdict not good im afraid! The singer was ok-ish then this shouting noise came from his mouth couldn't hear a word of the lyrics. Even if they are good song writters you cant hear the words any way! The very plain drums were louder than all the other musicians couldnt hear the bass at all. Can see why they were put on early when it was quiet! Good effort but really NOT for me.

I was absolutely blown away by Bow Jenkins. I listened to the demo and to her website demos. She has a rare and haunting quality to her voice and the lyrics are something else! Be lucky Bow.

Right this is too 'Mike from Northampton' who commented on the prievious page about "w.i.t.r.w.norman". I really cannot grasp why you are slating a perfically good band! Yes they put covers into their gigs but if you'd actually SEEN their gigs you would know that almost 50% of their set-list is ORIGINAL material! Please stop the ranting and raving slagging off "w.i.t.r.w.norman" or if you do, have the right facts to back it up. Im not asking people as a "norman" fan myself to like em' there music cannot please everyone but at least get your facts straight before writting a false message. I think it takes guts to get up and do what ALL the artists on this site are doing, what ever your passion, and that is something "w.i.t.r.w.norman" do not lack, do it follow your heart! At last some really talent in the form of three lads who call themselves "who'z in the room with norman?" What a talented group. The love of music and playing really oozes out of them whilst their playing especially lead guitar/vocal guy. They absolutly brung the house down on thursday night. The energy was estatic ive never seen a performance like it. The front man moving around in the crowd playing behind his head with his teeth, just fantastic what a talented lad, and some cracking guitar solos FAST FINGERES or what!! Who'z in the room with norman? -; you rock best of luck to you, you truly deserve it and if you put the same amount of effort into becoming famous as you did into your gig thursday night your a done deal! WELL DONE!!

WOW! Was at the spinning wheel last thrusday and was totally blown away by WHO'Z IN THE ROOM WITH NORMAN? Got some talents guys here! The front man really worked the crowd and they played some wicked music! The originals played were really cool everyone seemed to dig em! Not a dull face in the whole place, everyone clapping and cheers such a great atmosphere. Cant wait to see them again they'v got a fan for life!

Just got back from the bike fst and zenn were playing earlier on this morning, good job they were on early before the crowds got there because they were really bad! The vocals apart from being drowned by the band were off to say the least. Really dont know how they won that award! Thumbs down all round. I had herd that they were a band to see live but that is so not the case they are a band to not see at all!
