Name | Jacqueline McKay |
Pitching | Angel Cot |
Investment Required | £150,000 |
Equity Offered | 40% |
Brief Description | Suitcase combined infant cot and baby changing station |
Jacqueline is clearly nervous as she pitches her innovative beside cot that folds away to provide a suitcase.
Deborah Meaden briskly wants to know her three year forecasts and the young County Tyrone entrepreneur falters, her mind a complete blank on turnover and net profit figures.
Duncan is uncompromising.
As a father with young children Duncan Bannatyne understands the problems of travelling with babies but can't see how Jacqueline's design solves any of these problems.
Theo Paphitis thinks the design "horrendous", a "monstrosity" and can see no market for it. He becomes the first Dragon to declare himself out.
The others all very quickly follow suit.
While James Caan can see the unique selling point of the product, he struggles to see it making a return on investment for him, Peter Jones simply thinks it won't sell while Debrorah thinks it's quite "cumbersome".
However it is left to Duncan to deliver the harshest criticism - "There is nothing about that that is good" he opines, dismissing it as "ugly" and "ridiculous". The shell-shocked entrepreneur leaves the Den emptyhanded.
No investment.
