Episode 9

"Never before has an episode of Spooks had so much raw emotion and tension. Watching Jo trying and inevitably failing to graft together a normal relationship really hit home the alienation that the spooks have from the outside world.

The closing scene emphasised Ros' new ruthless character perfectly. Adam's scenes with Ana and Harry moulded him into an amazing tortured hero. The intricate storyline was an enjoyable challenge for the brain, showing that Spooks never talks down to its audience - an important and rare factor in modern drama.

Although the concept of Connie is ingenious, she's certainly no replacement for Ruth."

Natalie, West Wickham

"The best episode for ages. I was gripped throughout and it left me having doubts about the integrity of pretty much everyone on the Grid. Is Adam ever going to get into trouble about his professional conduct? When will Ros be caught up with? And you'd have thought Jo would know you're not meant to have unsuitable boyfriends."

Gilly, Manchester

"This was another episode that had a lead character escape death by a fraction of a second and it takes away any feel of reality from the episode. One escape can be believed. Several last second escapes from death in consecutive episodes and it gets tedious.

The earlier series' did not need this constant situation at the end of each episode and it's sending out the message that the script-writers are running out of ideas, by having to keep the viewers entertained in this way."

Dave, Newton-le-Willows

"The script-writing, acting and direction is quite brilliant, it's great to see such great British talent on our screens. The twists and turns are so clever, believable or unbelievable - who cares, just keep turning them out."

Andrew, West Yorkshire

"The rise and fall of tension was amazing and just when you thought it was all over, it peaked in the final scene. I couldn't believe Ana had deceived Adam.

Lucy, Wrexham, North Wales

"My favourite scene has to be Harry confronting Adam at home. Despite admonishing him for his behaviour, Harry clearly feels guilty about past events, illustrated by giving Adam money to go on the run. There was a nice mirroring of Ruth's situation last series – she took control of the situation away from Harry and chose to leave. With Adam, Harry's clearly trying to stop that happening again so he doesn’t have to face losing a colleague and a friend.

The closing scenes with Adam, Ana and Ros were extremely well done and reveal Ros clearly feels something for Adam.

Lynn, London
