Boris Belkin steps in to replace Julia Fischer, who is unable to perform due to an injury.

Russian virtuoso Boris Belkin will perform the Bruch Violin Concerto this evening in the Spanish city of Oviedo under Chief Conductor Juanjo Mena.

Always popular with audiences, this concerto is the perfect vehicle to display the soloist鈥檚 talents. Its soaring melodies and dramatic turns may well steal the evening, but will be closely rivalled by music from Prokofiev鈥檚 ballet score to Romeo and Juliet, arguably amongst the finest of all his works for orchestra.
