大象传媒 SO Plus Family: Nielsen Symphony No. 5
大象传媒 SO PLUS FAMILY is a series of free interactive, family-friendly workshops which introduce the music of the 大象传媒 SO concerts at the Barbican, including a 拢5 ticket offer (plus booking fee*) for the evening concert. Workshops take place 6.00pm-7.00pm in the Fountain Room, before the main evening concert at 7.30pm.
French composer Ravel begins and ends this programme with two dances: a sparkling waltz and his enthralling Bol茅ro. Prokofev wrote his energetic Piano Concerto No.3 while he was on holiday in France, but Nielsen wrote his extraordinary Fifth Symphony after World War One, taking us on musical journey from fear to hope.
