About this event

Joshua Weilerstein here makes his public debut with the 大象传媒 SO. With its rhythmic drive and new colourings (including an alto saxophone) Rachmaninov鈥檚 scintillating Symphonic Dances give up no hint that this would be his final orchestral work. Before it come two premieres: a world-first for 大象传媒 SO鈥檚 Artist in Association Brett Dean鈥檚 Hamlet Diffraction, drawn from the opera he鈥檚 writing for Glyndebourne鈥檚 2017 season, and the UK premiere of six Gesualdo madrigals orchestrated by Joseph Hallman.
