Rose, who has African, Indian and Welsh roots, was encouraged to start writing songs by Reg Presley of The Troggs, who she played Wild Thing (his song) to when she was just 11. Now 19, her music tackles what鈥檚 on the mind of a typical teenage girl in London, and that means - by her own admission - simple concerns like 鈥渓eopard print tights, speed bumps and boy bands鈥�, but also important issues, like the campaign against FGM, which she addressed in 21st Century Girl and played live at the 2014 Girl Summit. The pop press has already been seduced by her effortless talent and charm. Post-Glastonbury, expect Rose to become known to a far-wider audience.
