Jimi Goodwin makes his way to 6 Music Festival with debut solo album Odludek ripe to reveal to a live audience. The Doves frontman has been busy crafting the 10 track "mad mix tape" since the band announced their hiatus in April 2010.
In between recording sessions the Manchester native has spent most of his time popping in to 6 Music. Barely a year had past since the band's break before Goodwin was showcasing the fruits of his Bird Effect project on the Marc Riley show. We've also welcomed him through the doors to co-host or step in for long-time friend Guy Garvey on a regular basis.
Doves are intertwined in many key parts of 6 Music history. Taking pride of place on the station's first ever playlist and even headlining 6 Music's night at the 大象传媒 Electric Proms in 2009.
Odludek is released just ahead of Jimi's support slot on the forthcoming Elbow tour, but before that, we're delighted to welcome him back into the family for what no doubt will be a special show.
